Here's my honest opinion. She definitely grew way too fast for what she was capable of handling. She has had a lot of unfair harassment (Venti, traced emotes, e-celeb leeching, lolcow trannies, the RFA "yab", $800 targeted ads) and she was and honestly still is a very stressed out mess of a person. So her streams were very inconsistent and people ending up with vastly different impressions of her. The issue with vtubers is that we can only see what they show on stream and social media, and any more analysis just becomes narratives. So based only on her own words it sounds like she's starting to feel comfortable streaming and that she genuinely appreciates her viewers. Personally speaking I've really enjoyed her content the entire time and it feels like these past few weeks have been especially fun, and I'm even more excited for what the future holds.

IMO, it doesn't matter how good for something you are, unless you capitalize your talent into something concrete it's worthless.

There are lots of Hololive girls which doesn't sing as good as Gura but have several singles, and they sound great (imagine how good Gura will sound in a real Holo production). I guess not being in Japan has to be part of the issue (considering Mori and Kiara have some singles already), but I also hope Gura doesn't slack when the chance arises.

All of their seniors are japanese (and indonesians fluent in japanese) and one of the recommended abilities when applying to the IN or EN branch is being fluent in the language, that alone can open a lot of potential collabs, just ask Kiara who's so fluent she got her own talk show dedicated to interview and translate the JP holos for the EN fanbase.

Learning a language from a country where most of their preferred entertainment comes from is far from a waste, on the contrary, it can open future job options or other positions in the company if they ever graduate.
