Drama aside, the bigger problem is that NijiEN's content is really fucking bad. Nobody likes watching it. Bad content.
I don't like hearing Twisty make passes at Vanta, that isn't entertaining to me. I don't like hearing Enna call her fanbase incels. I don't like seeing "le subversion of the cute girl vtuber" over and over on a daily basis. The joke or meme, or whatever this was supposed to be has played out and finished.
Also when Elira is shoved into literally everything and made the face of everything, it feels extremely tone-deaf and awkward. I cringe every time, she needs to just go away.

Niji has become the Granblue Fantasy of vtuber corporations in that they are surprisingly influential and well-regarded in Japan but their international fanbase and viewership fall off hard. It's not a 1:1 comparison but it has become closer to this than ever before considering recent events.

They arent, vshojo clearly is. But if you are only talking about on youtube they still are, even with the decline. Phase connect is the only one in the same tier but they also have a lot of shitters and the screenshots of NijiEN usually just shows the days worst viewed streams. Like Meloco JPed her way into almost 5k median this month which is higher than Doki/Mint/ every other small corpo on youtube. And then a couple of the homos like Shu/Lucas etc usually has like 2-3k median which is higher than every Phase except Pippa. So NijiEN just has more chuubas in the 2k+ range than every other youtube corpo except Hololive, and the "big" streams for NijiEN like Vox 3D and things like that are way bigger than the "big" streams for Phase connect or IdolEN.

This isnt defending NijiEN or saying they are good or whatever, just that despite the massive drop in viewership NijiEN is still 3rd biggest EN corpo for now

The numberfags don't lie, a lot of the graphs I've seen show Niji at the top a lot with Hololive hot on their heels. I hate Niji as much as everyone else but I'm not denying the numbers are there. Granted, they're probably botting the fuck out of their top number-earners but they still keep their topdog status within JP I think. Kuzuha, Kanae, Sara, and some of the bigger-name NijiJPs like Debi, Himawari, etc. still hold strong numbers nowadays if I'm not mistaken.

Yeah people forgot but JP did fucking good all things considered in the Q4 Report, and did a decent attempt to make up for EN's collapse. Granted they are REALLY top heavy compared to Hololive in talent to audience distribution. But the main problem for them has been failing to get out of the JP bubble, and this year couldn't of been any worse timing since the Yen is falling down the shitter.
