The Unity Cup is an off season /vt/ league invitational using live management on PES16. It's purpose is to provide feedback for a new ruleset.

Good: The baubau vs manstars game was good. Beebs and commentators have been at the top of their game. The pause autism hasn't actually been as bad as I feared it would be.

Bad: There is pause autism and it definitely broke the flow a few times. I miss the players that used UV scroll, they were so fun. I'm a casual viewer so I don't really care about tactics autism or game versions beyond what I can see right in front of me. I hate the other leagues for all the drama and autism they have and I don't want VTL to become that.

Finally, I feel like the matches today have lacked a certain charm. It's a little hard to articulate, but something is off and I've been less invested and less interested than ever. Part of that is because /myteam/ isn't playing and I don't give a fuck about most of these.

I think if there was a way to cool the manager autism when it is extra time and down by multiple goals to kinda cap things from getting too meme/retarded it would be better.

not that it was bad when lia went to extras and was putting the full press on, but we have seen it in 4cc where that stuff turns a game that could be over in 5 minutes to a game that ends in 20 minutes because the other team keeps countering and goal festing (kinda like what happened to /vt/ in winter)

this is more or less my feelings too, I like the format for an extra cup event, it at least gives it some extra flavor than a standard exhibition tournament. PES 2016 feels a little wonky but then again most PES games are wonky

Matches on PES 16 feel worse than previous games. A lot of the matches were easy blowouts, most of which were not even remotely interesting. The match quality has not been an improvement over 19 or 21, which both look better and offer better graphics options for teams.
The managing isn't bad, but I don't think it should be in the main tournament. There should still be a periodic invitational that lets managers do the live thing.

5/10. Not awful, but I feel like it could be way better.

Everything looks really bad. Some of the stadiums that usually has sick ambiences look straight of the Star Wars Prequels.
The looks wouldn't be too unbearable if they weren't followed by absolute snoozefest games were one team scores and runs away eith the lead with no chance for a comeback.
You used to never know what would happen in a vtl game, now it is obvious the moment one team scores..
On top of that, the constant pauses and menus killed any flow and excitement left, especially in the only decent game we had, /manstars/ vs /baubau/.

As for the managers aspect, I do not care, never did, never will. There will always be "NO FUN ALLOWED" fags try harding tictacs to get an advantage for their literal who team, it is what it is.


All in all, I feel this change is a noticeable downgrade

Latter half has been better. Most of the games on the first half either were PES flukes or didn't work that well. But I won't blame PES16 for that yet because most of the 16 games I've seen in other events don't really go like that.

Thank you for coming to day 1 of Unity Cup. We're going to keep working on various things for PES16.
