She definitely did. Maybe it's just because she only tooka small nap. She was up from the morning till evening, and took a quick siesta just before the stream started.

Why doesn't DK have a tail? Is it because a gorilla? She can't remember whether they have tails or not. If that's the case, then he and Diddy must be different species. A spinning wheel of spikes hits DK right as she's making this scientific discovery of the century.

Okayu tried bragging to Mane-chan about how fun DKC is. Mane-chan simply agreed and said she'd already played it. All Okayu could say was "Oh...". It seems like Mane-chan really likes games.

>Playing to completion
Okayu made sure to check after last stream, but since there's no real bonus levels, she doesn't plan on completely clearing this one. She did see that 2 and 3 both have them though, so she currently intends to completely clear those games. She thinks Donkey Kong is super fun, so she's excited. Somebody says the hidden levels are like hell and Okayu seems excited. She says she'll clear them even if it takes a year.

>Today's meal
A leftovers of yesterday's banana. She didn't expect to beat the game so soon, so she hadn't prepared anything special. She lights it on fire in an attempt to give something different.

>Countdown
Okayu sounds real happy about doing a countdown for her birthday when somebody asks if she'll do one tonight. She looks forward to talking relaxedly with everyone while they watch the clock tick down. She's really excited, she's got her 3D idol live, as well as some other things that she really wants to tell us, but is just barely keeping under wraps.

>Pride before the fall
Okayu asked Korosan who she thought was going to win originally after the most unfortunate fan stream. She thought it was going to be Okayu who's fans had it worst for sure. Okayu went back and watched it and thought it was funny that you can easily see how confident Korosan is in the first half of that stream. As time goes on though, she starts to give off a feeling of "Huh, isn't it actually me?" as time goes on.

It seems like Okayu's presents will arrive at her place sometime next week. Apparently she got a huge amount of gifts. What's more, Mane-chan heard a rumor on the wind that she got an ungodly amount of tissues as a gift; more than any holo has gotten before. This is probably due to long-running jokes about hana celeb, and also boxed tissues with Luna.

A superchat laments not sending a gift, but is happy they managed to send her their first ever fan letter for her birthday. Okayu really likes fan letters. She feels the weight of the words somebody takes the time to write out themselves is very different than the weight of the words of an online comment. Thinking that the people who put in the effort to do this for her are the ones who love her streams is what keeps her mind and heart feeling supported.

There's times when people get too busy, and they might forget to say things like happy birthday until they remember, so for now everybody here is family instead.

Can she be honest? Her memory is way too awful for that. She has very vague sense of remembering names and icons of people who come to her streams regularly, but she doesn't have encyclopedic knowledge of everything they like, or say, or tweet. She knows there's people who probably would be happier if she could remember them perfectly, but she'd rather be honest about this. She does love her fans though, and wants to show that by at least making sure she can always deliver a stream for them to enjoy though.

She's thought before that if she could remember at least 100 onigiryaa that it would make them happy, but then there might be other regulars who feel left out that they alone never get remembered. It might be better that her memory's so bad if that's the case; all the onigiryaa can be equal in being part of her fuzzy memory together.

That might be a good point. If Okayu used her limited memory to remember everyone's names, she might not be able to function in her daily life at all. She'd get worse at games, leave the bath running, forget to wash the dishes, forget to take the trash out, forget how to ride a bike, forget how to use twitter, forget the way home, she'd probably even forget her name. She'd only have room in her mind to remember everybody's name. It's thanks to everybody being so accepting of her poor memory that she's able to live her daily life.

I always tell people to make their own flash cards instead of just using Anki. Make 20-50, put the kanji(and stroke order if you don't know how it works) on the front, then put the readings, meaning, and maybe a word or two it's used in on the back. Shuffle them up, do them all until you can go through a loop without missing one. Then, flip them around; attach a character to a meaning instead of a meaning to a character. Do this at least until you get a hang of most of the radicals, or just keep going forever. Make more flashcards and bundle them up, sometimes you should shuffle different sets into each other.

Stroke order and radicals will really help you a lot though, especially if ever using a system to look up a kanji you don't quite know.

I have to agree with this. I want to stress that Anki is an excellent resource and has its uses in many respects, but when it comes to kanji specifically (or when you're learning any new script or collection of logograms), it is vital you include your hands in that process, even if you never intend to write anything. Repetition and application are particularly important when it comes to kanji.

Yeah, it doesn't help that there's literally zero analog to this in English. There's a reason Japanese and Chinese are considered the most difficult languages to learn. If it makes you feel any better, many Japanese today still have trouble with kanji in varying degrees. Their difficulty is NOTHING compared to ours, of course, but it's still a facet of the language they often come to terms with. I'd really like to see it done away with similar to how Korean was able to divorce itself, but with the lack of spaces (among other problems) I don't envision any language reforms on the horizon.

The nice thing about stroke order is that it really doesn't take much time to learn the structure of it, but it makes writing the kanji in your mind that much simpler. When reading the cards backwards, I'd just trace the kanji in the air or on a surface with my finger.

Okayu apologizes for getting too festive in advance. She's already broken out the presents, chips, and of course, the party glasses. She's just too excited; it only comes once a year.

Okayu considers tomorrow's 3D live to be the real birthday celebration, but since all these people have come to celebrate the countdown with her, she's got some small announcements as a gift once the clock strikes midnight.

Okayu's been so busy working to get things ready for her birthday, that it makes her nervous that there's so little time before it actually starts. Don't worry; she plans to take it easier once this is all over.

>How old are you turning?
Hmmm... It's cat years, so she feels like it might be 60 or 80. She's gotten so many that she's stopped counting. It's rather long for a cat, but she is a well-trained one after all. She does have a bit of a youkai side to her, as does Korosan, so that probably helps too.

>Early congratulations
Okayu got a happy birthday message from Subaru around 9. She figures she must have sent it so early in case she had to go to bed early because of errands or something. Chat says Subaru confessed to wanting to one-up Korosan in her member's stream though.

Okayu's thought about doing a totsumachi before, but she admits she's a bit more shy than most people might think, so she's been avoiding doing one. She also mentions how lonely she gets, so she'd feel really awful if nobody showed up for hers. She thinks she'd like to try and put her fears aside and do one if she breaks 1 million subscribers though. Someone jokes about doing a 100 call-in endurance totsumachi. She says even with all of hololive it wouldn't be enough. So who else would call? YAGOO and his family? Her grandma?

Okayu asks what people got her. Most keep it a secret, but somebody says nori; she laughs. She mentions again how much tissue Mane-chan says she got. She wonders if she also got the most nori and toilet paper too. She says she's perfectly happy to get all that, and she won't let any of it go to waste. Maybe she'll report when she's used every last bit of it.

Okayu realizes the last time she had a 3D on her channel was her last birthday. She's had some on other channels, but she realizes that it's pretty crazy. She also knows she's one of the few who haven't done any sort of smaller 3D live, which is why she wanted to do this for all her fans. She's very excited.

She's excited to make people happy with the little announcement that's coming up in just a bit. There's still some more she can't tell us yet, but she thinks it will make everybody happy. She REALLY has wanted to tell us this whole time though.

Okayu, Mio, and Subaru were talking earlier, and Subaru had a bad case of the hiccups. She asked them for help, and Mio, like some kind of hiccup professor, explained the cause and that you could kill them by not breathing. She told Subaru to hold her breath for about 40 seconds, but Subaru still couldn't get rid of them. She asked Okayu to surprise them out of her. Okayu did this by suddenly shouting "Ass(shiri)!!!" and ended the chat session without seeing if it worked or not.

>Self-present
Okayu's present to herself is that large fridge she finally got around to buying. The Nekomata Inn may currently be closed, but she's excited that she'll be able to have all kinds of food and drink for her guests when it opens back up.

>Small announcements
First, Okayu made wallpapers of her idol model for those with memberships. She figured a lot of people were joining today, and wanted to do a little something for them(She later has to change the dimensions of the pc version because she is technologically inept and made it a weird resolution). Second, there's a mysterious video that's scheduled for 15 minutes after her 3D live ends. Look forward to it.

Remove the annoying 8bit part. Replace it with piano. Make the BPM slower.

I missed the first half of the live 3D because I overslept but definitely enjoyed what I could, I liked her first OG song (the one project everyone is talking about might be released for her anniversary so don't worry about it) definitely a banger of a song it is. I might understand some who hate it or not into it but I'm sure Okayu was excited for it, don't disappoint her and give it a try at least.

Overall despite fucking my sleep reps and missing some of the 3D, what a good fucking day this was. Looking forward for the next 3D!
