I guess the trick for making local and NAI work together is to use Local first and NAI second, which makes sense as I wanted to use NAI for the style anyway. See https://files.catbox.moe/xm2g08.png (embed) for the comfy workflow.

Only downside is, it's extremely time intensive afterwards as I'm manually i2iing each 1024x1024 section after upscaling and then have to clean up the seams. I might just go the extra step at some point and just draw over it. That way I can actually post it without the AI tag on pixiv.

I was testing mostly batches of shallow/intermediate/deeper layers, mixing IN and OUT parameters as well to figure out not only style transfer but anatomy/composition transfer/mixing. Getting the example grids going is always what takes the longest, though...

When it comes to coom gens I stick to pony, I have all my tags calibrated to all the various positions and the yields are pretty high, also all the new character LoRAs come on pony first.
The style that like is on a model derived from the animagine but with pony sex stuff injected in but it's not as good for sex stuff. It's better for general stuff or cute stuff should someone request that might want to change this model since pony is limited for the normal stuff.

See above. I use an outpainting workflow to get more background into the image to get a base image. Here it's just gacha.
Afterwards I do slowly refine specific details using NAI inpainting and GIMP/Krita. Dunno how common it is to do this, but this way you can use the free OPUS gens for higher res images.

Echoing what >>79036122 said. As a tool it is incredible. However for most pics a little bit of tricksing around with local models can also work, so unless you can't gen locally, it is just convenience (and some inconvenience, seeing as upscaling costs tokens, so you should always just do that locally, meaning you either need a local workflow and work with the API, or import the picture again and again). Granted, it saves a lot of time and its artist and concept understanding is insane, but whether that's worth 25$ really depends on how much you use it.

There is a small LoRA tutorial in wiki found in the OP has some training parameters too. Small dataset is a bit tough and mostly something you have to find a good balance of variation and detail. Bake one, if detail is missing add more of that data, if starts to become stiff add some variation. You can split reference sheets to couple of different images to add to the dataset.
If it's really not cooperating, use the baked LoRA to create some synthetic data to pad the dataset (use as a last resort though).
