You probably overloaded your vram with too high of an upscale. If you want larger images you should look into Multidiffusion/tiled vae/ultimate SD upscale which will break the image in smaller parts, upscale them then recombining the image.

Yes. In the hiresfix panel it means it creates an image at your initial resolution, let's say 1024x1024, then it reprocesses it at your initial resolution multipled by the 'upscale_by' value. This prevents monsters and duplicates from appearing as the model is not trained for straight up generating at 2048x2048.
However, if you're using latent, your denoise level has to be above 0.55. The recommended way is to use an esrgan upscaler like 4x-animesharp instead, which will allow you to decrease the denoise to 0.2-0.3. The guide from the previous thread shows how to do it.

My recommendation would be to look through catboxes linked by others on the thread, download the images from there and look at the settings other people use. You can load up the image in the 'PNG info' tab in a1111/forge and it will show you, but it will only work for images from catbox links as 4chan removes the metadata.

The simplest way to go about it is like this,

Every tag has a default weight of 1, which is effectively how much emphasis the AI puts on that tag. You can use (these) to increase weight and [these] to decrease weight as well, they start at 1.1/-.1 then increase exponentially the more you use, but it's much easier to use the top method ((((because)))), (((otherwise))), (((your))), (whole), [fucking], [[[[[prompt]]]]], [[[list]]] will end up looking like that shit.

Tag behaviour varies wildly. If you type large breasts you'll get large breasts, but if you want them larger (but not huge, because you're gay) you can make them (large breasts:1.2). Whereas if you try (streaming tears:1.5) you can end up with a video-camera affect because you used the word streaming. Don't go overboard if you want to have any clue what you're doing, weighting prompts is like steering, give it too much and you just end up going off a cliff. Also every Lora you use will alter the bahaviour of them as well. Honestly it's better to just fly blind and try your best because I've been experimenting with penetration sizes for the better part of six hours and am about ready to kill myself.

NTA but few things, for pony you have to include a bunch of quality tags in the beginning of the prompt. Open this catbox in webui and load it up to see a general structure of how the prompt should look. Don't worry about the negative prompt portion.
The cfg is a tad too high, generally stay in the 5-8 area

I am kinda confused kek. You don't need the score tags for the 1.5 models those are pony exclusive. Also make sure all those LoRA are for 1.5 models, can't really tell from that. Also make sure a VAE is for 1.5 model, which could also be where it's messing up.

and lastly, maybe not what's causing but it will save you headaches in the future go to settings search "no norm" and enable that. Should prevent some weird looking results.

While we're having a newbie question corner (last from me, I swear) is there any way to set it so that when I drag an image from folder to inpaint it automatically detects and loads the appropriate metadata (prompts and size mainly)? It's not the size, but the number of files. If I want to copy the files in another folder on the same hard drive it takes me like 3 hours with the OS copy command or with rsync. Not sure why but it is what it is. Simply starting up the training takes 40 minutes to check all the images, sort them in buckets and checking the cached latents.

I don't know the technical details but the effect is overall more/finer details. It is technically more expensive computationally but it's still 0 anlas as base resolutions. Sometimes you get weird ghost-like stuff in the background which you can inpaint out. If you want a more simple 2d style, turn SMEA off
