I've helped out multiple friends by giving them currency and/or powerleveling when they start an MMO that I play. So, I won't drop her for this. She's free to do what she wants. The main thing is that this shows she really wasn't joshing and was just a regular geeky girl. Because popular people still end up mobbed without being streamers, see old forums and such. So now she just needs to ask for advice from the more seasoned people on handling things. I'll say this about modern games, they at least have more accessible tools to deal with things like this, reminded me of the old Ragnarok Online days. Monster Hunter Rise with Jailbirds was much better despite some people hogging playtime. But that was the second playthrough, Biboo and Nerissa had trouble managing some Jailbirds and Pebbles on the first run, but the second where Rissa was alone with us and Rissa was good. So I have faith she's got it for the second go round.

Depends on where you are, but "concrete slums" is only for super high density cities which are varied all over. If you have terrible cost of living, low job opportunities, and awful housing options you have homeless. Problem is, there are simple ways to curb homelessness that just aren't done, and rent continues to rise unnecessarily. Had my landlord try to sell our flat to us for 200k, which, if you saw it, is bullshit. Lots of slumlords and no appetite for getting people affordable housing, coupled with awful infrastructure to alleviate people being able to get to jobs easier is what enables things to be as they are. Rural areas like Rissa lives have the caveats of low(er) cost of living, but that is because they are in places with less opportunity for exploitation. For being the United States, it really does feel like different countries a lot of the time.
