The problem with discussing them /here/ is that a lot of anons hate the concept of the stars so much that they don't even want to discuss anything about them, shutting them down as "gay" almost immediately, which is pretty annoying when some of them focus a lot more on content that can be enjoyed by anyone, like with Bettel's humor or Hakka's music, so the "brotuber" thing likely came out as a way to get some curious anons to at least give them a second look.
In general though, I'm apparently a weirdo who's fine not watching a stream if it doesn't appeal to me, so if I see a weird gaybaiting stream or something, I don't have an issue just... ignoring it and waiting for the next stream I know I will like. I watch the stars sometimes, but they're never my first pick and are usually something I watch a vod of late at night after the girls/fleshies I like are done streaming.

i get that. but the reality is that the anons that say those things aren't going to watch the stars or spend any money on them anyways. it's pointless to try to change their mind. and it would be even more pointless for the chuubas themselves to try to convert those people, because in cases like these you're better off focusing on how to please the hardcore fans you already have.

i'm the same and i'd wager the majority of viewers do this. you just don't hear about them a lot. someone who's indifferent to bait content will just go on with their day, while someone who hates it is more likely to post about how it's garbage and pisses them off.

I agree. I think the best thing for them is probably to branch out like they have been doing and become sort of like ID with them being the "hololive but actually available to collab with random 3/4views" branch. It's really a lost cause for true unity at this point unless something changes and they absolutely explode in popularity to rival the girls.
