I can confirm this is true. My greatest conversion comes from long format youtube videos: think something like 1 follow per 100~200 views. Youtube shorts are more like 1 follow per 5k~10k, and have much worse actual viewer conversion.

Horizontal format videos are more likely to be clicked on deliberately. Make anything you like, just give a shit about making it good. Shitposts are fine if they're well executed.

Don't be afraid of making bad videos either. Just make them progressively better.

Any platform-to-platform conversion is very low. Youtube doomscrollers wont click on your twitch link because it's not their format of content.
Short-form content consumers wont watch a livestream, they just don't have brain capacity for that.
Twitter is a little bit different because it's more interactive/social and you usually exist in your sphere of interest(vtubing). But at the same time I've seen vtweeters/pre-debut vtubers with 3000 followers that would have like 10 viewers max on their debut. It's great, it's not 0. But it's like what, less than 1% conversion rate?

Now, in my opinion, making youtube content can be really helpful if you also stream on youtube. Winning the algorithm lottery can be big IF you stream or have more content on the same platform.

It entirely depends on what you ultimately want to stream. Integrating VRChat as a method of tracking for standard desktop game streams is super inconvenient and uncomfortable compared to other tracking methods like Vtuber Studio.

I recently started showing up to Okami's streams in VRChat, which gives me the ability to walk around her stream and point to different parts of her gameplay, which I had a lot of fun with/felt like it added to her production values.

I think the best strength for this would be reaction style content where you can walk around the entire video like those old idubz green screen edits or filian for a more contemporary example.

i would say potentially start at the easier things, because when you accomplish those it will feel good and potentially make you want to continue being productive.
it might also help to find a productive way to multitask, if there's something you could potentially watch or listen to while you work on some of those things.
some of this stuff sounds like long term prospects, you could start by sorting those into smaller "i can do this specific action" right now items and "this is something i need to work on over time" items.

As someone who got raided into Beryl and watched him from then to the end, I think I can safely say that yes, he is boring as hell and lackluster as shit.
