Fatal Fury is winning. Yeah, at least among the people who aren’t addicted to melee. Ult players have tried it and like it better, people who like the melee formula are glad they have an option that doesn’t require perfection. The only way it doesn’t work is if people can’t get invested in the roster. Smash, Nasb, and Multiversus cheated, so is 2XHolo. Rivals 1 did ok for a smaller indie title, maybe Rivals 2 can broaden the investment

Well that's odd. Botan's tournament had something similar where the grand finalist from the loser's bracket only had to beat the finalist from the the winner's side in one set instead of two (despite being a double elimination tournament) and nobody raised a stink over it.

Botan's tourney is single player so it still end up being skill issue in the end. Rikka's one is team based so people are mad because the team who win most of the matches lost because their general keep losing against everyone. This won't be an issue if nyaraka perform better and win some matches or if she isn't the general.

Juri anon akuma diary day 21

Did nothing but practice the max damage/ killer/ burn out combo for 4 days, 2 days on one side and 2 days on the other. The reason for this is because this is the one combo I cant drop, ever, because its the win condition.
Some notes:
- Repetitions on the second side were considerably easier after the 2 days, even if I technically never practiced. This is because combos are actually about rhythm I suppose and once you have one side you almost have the other one.
Next practice, the "starting from light" killer combo, will only be practiced for 2 days on both sides.
- Why 2 days? Well neuroscience says this is how you get best results to master a skill : 2 days of intense practice- 1 day of light practice - 1 day of no practice - 1 day of intense practice .
After that you dont have to practice so intensely ever.
Also no practice doesnt mean you stop practicing and lgo lay on your ass, you can do that I mean, but what you are supposed to do is to switch from to something else. I switched from one side to the other but there was so much overlap i might have overdone it.
Why does it work? Well the neurons take their sweet time to make those neural bridges. The training "marks" for construction, and the building is done while you are resting.
Its quite similar to how muscle building works, and why there are "rest days"
- Optimal training is, according to some science paper i cant find, like this: 15 seconds of training, 15 seconds of rest, this 50 times. During those 15 seconds think about any mistakes you make and how you are going to correct them. Actually I learned this around day 4 and it did improve a lot what I was doing.
If you make a mistake, dont discard it and move on, this is TERRIBLE. You are basically telling your brain its OK to make mistakes. ITS NOT. DONT LET HIM GET AWAY WITH IT. HE IS VERY LAZY AND JUST WANTS TO GO BACK TO AUTOMODE.
Think heavily about any mistakes you make. This is the key to focus. The reason people who dont do focused practice dont get better at games is because they do the same mistakes over and over until it actually becomes a habit. Perfect play requires perfect practice. You should practice as if your life were in the line, as akuma says, combats that are not to the death lead to careless behavior, which will in turn become deadly when the real deal is up.
