That means Hololive trying to establish presence in it, even if it's not a concert, would still be a step towards forming a relationship... Though, it will also matter the reception.

>> No.77865072

Since everyone's definitely going to be staying in Manhattan thanks to animenyc, you're better off heading straight back after the concert and hanging out there. There are a few places to eat in the flatbush area but it's nothing special. No real reason to stay in the outer boroughs unless there's somewhere in particular you want to go.

But basically, you can't go wrong heading north from kings theater. There are some bad neighborhoods immediately to the east, and a bit south as well.

Most of the hotels booked for animenyc are more in the center part of the city as opposed to the javits which is right by the water, so I said that with the expectation that most people might be heading out from their hotels or something. Also the subway has nothing to do with the US' railroad system, its entirely something that was created specifically for public transit in NYC, as a replacement for trolley cars.

If you had some brain mass instead of Big Mac mass you'd get that the point is, that cons in the EU (or at least all cons in Germany I know off) don't do paid concerts during the event. Cover would have to organize a whole concert without a con taking place at the same time, if they actually want to sell tickets.
The cons here are different from the sex parties in some Hotel event location that you (mostly) have in the US.
And if you'd want, the cheapest con I was to, is the comiket in Japan, because it is literally free to enter (or at least it was free before COVID)

They could, at least in NYC. That one finished construction just last year. Its not that we can't do it, its that no one in this country gives enough of a shit, because the people in the cities are a minority to the huge car loving majority everywhere else who see zero benefit to it.

>How did Dokomi fuck up IRyS?
Taken from the archive
>IRyS had no audience feed, which is on the venue to sort out
>Played ads during IRyS performance
>There was supposed to be a KFP food truck but Dokomi fucked it up due to incompetence
>The meet and greet allocation was completely fucked, making Kiara and IRyS scramble hard to communicate the ever-changing details with their fans
>The con staff had no radios and were passing info around with runners
>They didn't leave enough time to process the queue for Kiara and get people seated, then just had her start before everyone was there and shut the remaining people out of the venue
>After that the holos pretty much said there won't be a next time at Dokomi
They basically pulled what Offkai did to Pippa, but worse.

Yes, anywhere with an old subway system is going to keep it looking that way because they're retro enough to be cool now and redecorating underground in a busy transit system is astronomically expensive

To be fair, Anime Expo is much bigger than Anime NYC. It's literally the biggest anime convention in the world. So that probably helped.
As others said, booking a big venue is probably pretty hard too.

>> No.77896445

>>77896284
It's always weird to see how big Anime Expo is considering how trash it is. But AnimeNYC is still a fairly large convention in a more populated region, they could sell more if they wanted. The theater is a very nice venue so it's probably less fear of not selling out and more about getting a nice spot.

>> No.77897413

>> No.77899529

They use a different method of attendance counting that inflates their numbers anon. Japan Expo and Dokomi are both larger when counted in the same way and Comiket is in a whole other league

>> No.77900158

>>77899529
I know counted by turnstile attendance. Japan expo was over 255,000 turnstile attendance in 2023. I'm not sure if there's any way to say for sure about Dokomi. 392,000 turnstile means at the very least a minimum of about 100,000 unique attendees, but it's probably much more than that.
I think it's at least fair to say that Anime Expo is among the largest anime conventions in the world.
