Coco was specifically useful in Holo because her personality/snark was a good foil/counterbalane for the super-saccharine gentleness most of the girls exude. As kson her personality is no longer an extreme outlier of a group but is very normal.

For mint, nijiEN was for a long time just a dogshit on her shoe cramping her style. The more stupid niji shit she got involved with such as the Finana/Uki offcollab or being a Luca orbiter etc the less likable it made her, niji needed her a lot more than she needed them.

As to how this reflects on whether it's right or not to like someone after they left their alma mater corpos, I don't really care either way, I can just see plain as day why some people would somehow find it feels natural to not be too into kson or think it feels nice to like mint knowing she isn't gonna be dragged down by niji retardation any longer.

Kson is different from Coco. Seemingly subtle differences like the flesh streaming, the cam whoring, the preaching to her audience (which was kind of always there but ramped up after she left), etc.

These things add up and paint a completely different picture. Especially because her dynamic was completely different as a member of an idol group with actual restrictions on her, it was almost like she had the perfect scenario set up for her anti-idol character to push against the mold without ever actually breaking it.

In short, I think Kson is the one case where not being in hololive makes a big difference in her content and how her personality is perceived (you could argue whether her personality has actually changed over the years).

Not the anon you're responding to, but flesh streaming on the same channel vs a separate channel would make a difference for me, mainly because I can avoid the flesh streams pretty easily. A big draw for vtubers for me is that I don't end up judging them and their content by their real life looks.

Bullying implies there was malice behind it and the intent was to make her want to leave- it's much more likely that they were just paranoid about the antis targeting more people and put her in semi-quarantine to avoid that. It was a shitty thing to do that was definitely the primary factor in her leaving, but it was out of cowardice rather than malice.

IIRC the thing that might have actually made said quarantine start to lift may not have been her pulling the trigger on leaving but that Youtube finally got their shit together and figured out how to stop the spammers (I think they even used Coco's chat as the main test bed for their development of that.)
