As a Megaman Zero fan, it hurts my soul nobody's playing that game, save for 1, those games are the PEAK of Megaman games.

Fast paced, challenging, KINO soundtrack, and a proper pleb filter like MM2.

It's also pretty bloody in the JP version since they weren't kidding around despite the chibi aesthetic given by Tooru Nakayama.

It has a metroidvania mechanic into it, but it feels oddly implemented. Story is good but not as great as Zero or X's are because everything feels toned down, also more developed in one side (Aile, the girl, pic related) than the other (Vent, the boy), the only biometals you'll ever use are ZX and HX, and some of the bosses are a headache to beat at the maximum requirement (Lvl. 4, which means defeating them without exploiting weak points).

It's worth your time either way, it's more fun than the gacha anyway .

ZX is decent gameplay-wise but the Metroidvania aspects are really half-assed (new areas are locked behind colored doors instead of platforming sections that would require new abilities) and the score ranking is one of the dumbest I've seen in any game (you have to AVOID hitting a boss's weak point).

ZX Advent is very pretty, probably the best looking sprite-based game of the DS era. However gameplay-wise it's easily the worst Zero/ZX game. Most of your post-boss unlocks are completely useless outside of very specific situations and feel god awful to use. To top it off the English version is stuck with some horrible voice acting.

ZXA just hates the existence of gameplay flow as switching so often just stops you in place. I mean ZX had the same problem but usually you only had to swap for like a door issue but bleh.

Zero really was the pinnacle of Go Fast, Go crazy and just kill shit while looking and feeling cool.

Kinda why MM9 was kind of a miss for me because just going back to MUH MEGUHMAN TOO mechanics was stupid. I avoided 10 for that reason. At least 11 remembered Going Fast and having stuff like the slide and charge shot is cool.

It's honestly a shame that 4's the best selling one out of all of them, it might have put off people from trying out 5 or 6 which are among the best three along with 3. I've noticed that quite a few times the crappiness of an entry into a series doesn't really affect that entry's sales but instead the next one's.
I'm willing to bet that the next mainline Pokemon entry won't sell as many copies as Sword/Shield did thanks to those games being a shitshow but it's Pokemon so it'll still sell more than it deserves.
