This is part of the reason for why I personally believe you should never date a woman/man until they're in their late twenties. The buffer zone and tolerance for mental and physical growth allows you to see exactly what the relationship is going to be like for the rest of your life.

There is very little benefit to dating someone young on a long-term scale because of so many personality and physical changes that can happen in late teens or early twenties.

Allowing yourself to see the person grow into their final form will let you see their weaknesses/faults along with their strengths.
You can probe the brain of an adult more easily than younger adolescents as they have very predictable patterns of behavior.
Sure, younger adolescents have patterns of behavior, but they're still growing/developing as a person.
I'm not saying that older adults aren't developing, they still can. What I'm saying is that you need to give a human more time to change and grow to see whether you want to be with them or not.
