I think an oshi differs from a waifu in that it is someone you want to support and see succeed without necessarily having an underlying romantic motive. It's someone you'd go out of your way for to promote and support, even at a personal cost.

The africats. They're a package deal. You can't make me choose between the two. Tanya's endless energy and charm won me over from day one and she just keeps getting cuter. Neko's sweetness and beautiful singing voice made me fall for her hard. I want both of them to be successful and happy.

I don't really feel anything in particular towards this. DD in particular always seemed pretty inoffensive to me, though I'd question how much DDs invest of themselves to support all their oshis. I suppose the offense is supposed to be a matter of loyalty, but loyalty to vtubers is a bit of an odd subject when just watching them is the baseline of support you can offer.

Sort of but not really? I went from corpos to indies, and with corpos I haven't really felt a need to NEED to support them, so while I definitely had a preferred holo for example, I always felt like they were doing just fine without my support and I kept being a lurker.

I used to get really frustrated over the past weeks. Really, really frustrated. That's kinda blown over recently even though not much has changed, so now things are just fine again. With any luck things will start looking up soon, and if not things will continue to just be fine.

either works, really. cytubes generally guarantee that the video quality won't be choppy, but you have to constantly link the cytube channel on your stream. additionally, some viewers might not tune into the cytube channel so you're splitting your chat into two there
discord watchalongs usually filter a shitton of your viewers cause >discord, but since it's not a formal stream you probably won't worry about numbers as much. ex: ary's PSG watchalong and tiger's ippo watchalongs only get a small fraction of her viewers to show up but they're almost always comfy

depends on what's being read. it helps if it's one story per stream, or if it does take multiple streams that the story is in parts that are easy to jump into the middle of

People sperg about the holo format but I think it's good. The most important part is a talent showcase to show why you're worth watching. If you can sing do karaoke, if you can play an instrument do a cover, if you can draw do a special debut drawing or make something with chat. There's be a couple.
Thinkerbella is ean easy recc. She sings for crazy long hours and is generally just nice to have up in the background while working.
halO_Sweety has that kind of low energy. She lists her streams as ASMR, but they're mostly just calm chatting streams. Her gimmick is GFE so that might be a turn-off.
Technically miilkywayz should match this since she goes for a calm and comfy vibe, but personally I've been getting a bit irritated by how absolutely fucking coomer-brainer she and her chat are. Might still give her a look.
I only got to watch one stream uninterrupted, but I liked GezuGezu. She's got a kind of low energy voice.
Absolutely do second the other anon's recc for Alicesawyer. She's good fun. Maybe check out stalkeralker too while you're at it.

There should be more, but those are some I can think of on the spot. It also depends on the type of stream for some vtubers. Nekoreen for example has very chaotic gameplay, but gets real cozy during her chatting sections.

I keep ditching streams when they become big. I've been in a couple for a year or two, they get big then I just don't get the feeling to watch them anymore. It just keeps on happening to me, even if I actually like the streamer.. I just like smaller chats. I don't unsub to them, I keep my sub but I just stop watching/chatting.
