All of these cons rely very heavily on local volunteers, as do the vendors in turn, and this one's non-profit. They simply aren't viable without them.

Having the con somewhere other than San Francisco might have saved them, but the organizers maybe natives, and California is kind of the place to be for anything anime. LA just had the all-time largest gay pride celebration in the world, so here's to hoping that AX doesn't have a similar plague.

Every time anyone /here/ says that Pippa is so much as a conservative, someone from /pol/ will instantly jump in to correct them, claiming it's an act and she's a sellout/grifter, as I guess they feel rather betrayed, as she's moved more and more mainstream over the years.

Personally, I think she's undeniably a gun toting, Trump loving Republican, but more the live-and-let-live libertarian type that doesn't give much of a shit about the culture/race war end of things, and thus has a mixed bag. Funnily enough, I watch her quite a bit, but I can't seem to remember anything about her when it comes to politics. Especially given my /news/-gathering I associate politics moreso with Kirsche and the dramatubers than with Pippa, mainly because I remember that she's shifted away from that content and forget that, you know, she was still plenty clipped back in the old days. And it's not like I didn't watch her in the old days, either; I guess I just hung around /pcg/ too much (not like I hung around there much anyway) to hear about her more controversial statements. My chuuba memory must be going funny; I haven't been able to watch streams for a (short) while because my earbuds are broken. I've seen the thumbnails for the AI president stuff, but I never watched them because I don't really like AI voice stuff. Why AI voice stuff only? I'm not really sure. I mean, for AI images, I was on /vtai/ in its earliest days and wrote many a quick-guide for getting the old nAI leak up and running--before any of this new-fashioned "LORA" nonsense the kids these days seem to be using. If I go onto /vtai/ now-a-days, I can request a loliwife Pippa with no trouble at all! Back in my day, you had to wrangle with the generator for so long you were lucky if you got one good image in a dozen--and that's not even mentioning the fact that my computer took 10 minutes to generate one image! And now, that was with the lighter, old nAI build, too, not any of this fancy stuff. It's really quite amazing how much technology can be improved in such a short span of time. Now, where was I... Ah, yes, the AI presidents/Pippa bit. While I've liked Pippa ever since I first saw her, (which is when she was playing "Holocure" when that game first released,--and what a time it was! It still seems to me amazing how much the game has been changing whenever I see flash before my eyes Kaela's update streams. It was so enheartening to see such a love-imbued fan-game be the FOTM for the Hololive girls, especially as I liked it and could play it. Playing games, too, was quite difficult; owing both to my means and my preferences, I generally only had older consoles, so ever since the Switch started to overtake the 3DS I never really had any console which could be considered "new." It was also difficult to get games on my computer--which reminds me, that awful game "Doom" or one of the new ones from that series wouldn't install, and I never got e-mail in response! I always knew I should've stuck with "Quake," it's such a shame seeing these new-types be engrossed with the latest trends. Let's see... yes, when Holocure first came out, it was so nice to be able to play the games which I saw other people playing. (That reminds me of when Selen played "Quake" on stream: I still have the tab pulled up on my phone. I wonder how she's doing recently... I've looked over the catalog, but her old thread doesn't seem to be there anymore, which is a shame; although I can't say I frequented it at all, or even watched her that much, I always admired her proactive spirit.) As an attendee, I'll only talk about what I experienced:

- The internet was better this year than last year. Not perfect, still, but still better than last year.
- Same with most tech issues: better, but sadly not perfect.
- As an example, the main concert on Saturday was "only" delayed by 20 minutes, compared to last year's 3 hours.
- The V4Mirai x Idol concert had an unfortunate tech issue in the center during an Idol EternalS song; thankfully, all of Idol Encore, as well as Chrystalis (Abi & Serina), and Kou Mariya saved the day by riffing back-stage while things were fixed. I hope people got video of it.
- There were many delays with M&G, and some of the autograph machines broke down for a time. However, some of it may have been on the vtubers' side of things.
- In the main room, there was no issue with the monitors, unless you really want to fuss about the side monitors turning on like 1 second after the main, center monitor, and being slightly darker.
- 18+ panels always require ID verification, that's why they're 18+. The wristbands were a way to have the ID verification happen outside of the line directly into the 18+ panels, and it was like 20 feet away from those panels.
- The four parties I went to were 21+ due to alcohol, and so the official Offkai 18+ wristband didn't matter. People should have gotten carded on the way into those parties. Some of the parties even had their own wristbands just so people didn't have to get carded multiple times.

Well, I still think the Veibae was the lucky chance, and the rest the result of her work. The new model gave her a tiny extra blip of popularity, enough for Veibae to notice and give a snide remark (or several, she has a bad habit of that). The whole Veibae debacle was her lucky break. ANYCOLOR ATTAINS ABUNDANCE
Anycolor's stock stay rather neutral from it's lunch prices as it closes out today at 2220 yen (65). While they tried to get back to the level they were at slightly before lunch, it didn't matter as they slowly dwindled back down. Still, They're now back in the 2200s after 5 days and are looking at a 56 yen gain for the week so far.

COVER COLLECTS CASH
Cover doesn't let yesterday stop them as they continue their climb as they now rest at 1796 yen (92). They also saw a similar trajectory today but unfortunately they don't break out of the Ohtani Zone. They're currently looking at a rallying 70 yen gain so far this week.

TRADING ON THE RISE
Interestingly, trading volumes have spiked hard this week. While we did see bumps on Friday likely due to the Dodgers Collab, Cover's trading volume today is the 2nd highest since their Q4 report. This only being beaten by the day after the report dropped. Furthermore, Anycolor was a part of the rising tide of trade volume. The last time they saw levels like this was on the 14th of May.
