The company they partner with for these events, Rakuten, is a massive Japanese group. They bought the rights to broadcast and license out the NBA name for 225 million dollars some years back, something they've done for a lot of things given their size, but to note that currently the NBA is negotiating 76 BILLION, that's right, BILLION dollar deals for broadcasting rights in the actual regions they care about. Hell, I just looked into it myself and it's pretty grim. There's basically no packs that came out shortly after her tweet that she wasn't a part of, as she was part of all the ones in May and June (aristocrat, family, get well soon were the three I saw), which implies whatever voice pack it was that she got shafted on ended up coming out after July. Meaning that they had a time limit to sign up for voice packs 2 months out.

The big issue is that as an indie, you're obviously not going to have the brand presence that being in a big corpo SHOULD bring you. You don't get the ads or major sponsorships, while people have to actively know you exist or they'll forget you.
