I have a lot of sympathy for her and she plays some games that I'd be interested in watching, and I've enjoyed some of the clips of her I've seen but her accent filters me too much to watch a full stream.

Having said that I wish she was able to stop self-destructing. The most recent incident seems to have been set off by more or less just a retard in her chat - I don't know many 4views who can get would up to the point of meltdown like that other than maybe Shondo and she has severe mental health issues.

I would say as well that my opinion of her fans /here/ has been massively reduced as a result of this. I checked out /ss/ after the the bait threads started to appear and there were at least two of them (seemingly not shitposters) who were saying it was hot when she was breaking down talking about going into prostitution. Seems like an entertaining person, and I sympathize with her past, but at the same time I think that she traps herself in a negative cycle that can make watching her rather tiring. It got triggered by Niji, so she didn't let loose the first punch, but she's handling the situation thereafter wrong. I don't doubt that what happened with Niji was horrible, but by bringing it and other drama she gets associated with up often, it's like poking at an open wound while saying "I hope it heals soon because it hurts a lot." It invites more drama because all the dramawhores latch onto it, talk about it, try to make it worse to popularize their self at her expense.

Sayu is a really good streamer who has a lot going for her - crackling energy, engaging voice, and a cute and sexy model that she clearly knows how to use.

If she's going to continue to be successful and grow, she has GOT to let the Kurosanji shit go. That's almost certainly going to require therapy at this point.

Personal relationships are already shifty and weird long before you get business and black corpos involved. She left the door open for her former colleagues to reach out, and for whatever reason they haven't. She needs to just accept that she might never know why and move on. Every time I did watch her though she either had that Tangia bullshit on her streams causing tons of obnoxiously-disruptive donations to pop up (like literal screen-wide animations blocking her and soundbytes that are 2x louder than her constantly being played). Ignoring the Tangia bullshit, she always seems to be in some doom spiral.
I watched her breakdown last night live and the only thing that came to mind while I listened to her was that this breakdown is the reason people avoid her, not because of her past with Niji. Nobody wants to deal with someone who goes "yeah I almost just went into sex work and I'll probably go into sex work if I quit vtubing nowadays which seems more and more likely" because everybody around her is also dealing with their own image issues. Who would want to interact with such a downer that refuses to let the past remain in the past?
Keep in mind this entire breakdown was because of a 3-month old Youtube member of Sayu aggressively responding to off-topic stuff (that wasn't even derogatory or aggressive, but mostly a tertiarily related statement through the game Sayu was playing about another vtuber) that a grayfag said. Her entire spiral began after this member said he didn't mean for Sayu to see his response, which lead to Sayu going off about how her numbers are small and how she cares too much about her chat and how she "isn't like those other vtubers who obviously don't care".
The entire thing is just ridiculous. Sayu needs therapy and a new profession, because even behind the layers of menhera, she's just not very entertaining with her dialogue. Ngl her situation to me really shines a light on how doomed vtubing (and in a way society) is.

Yeah. Honestly, I didn't mind previous situations and I thought people here were overblowing the issue but the meltdown from last night was something else and definitely isn't good for her, her fans or her growth.
I do think she needs to bring her heavy feelings up from time to time because it helps with understanding them better however what happened last night wasn't it. She should understand that it isn't good to police every single user in chat. Yes, I know she reads chat and I appreciate it but majority of humans aren't well receptive to criticism and either fight back or disappear, without actually listening to the main point of asking for improvement. Especially when it's streamer speaking vs chatter writing and there are latency issues too.
The best way for streamers to curate their audience is leading by example - not mentioning the bad stuff. If someone in chat goes overboard, moderators should take care of that, not the streamer. Fact is, majority of viewers DO NOT pay attention to chat and especially not when there's both Twitch chat and YouTube chat active. When she starts going off on a chatter, experience of all viewers suffers and what's worst, most of them won't even understand why it happened - because again, they weren't paying attention to chat in the first place. They are just confused and their moods sour.

If you actually watch at what she said, it wasn't just "poor moderation". She spends several minutes sucking herself off about how she "actually reads chat unlike other streamers". And then when the conversation is over, no one is talking about it in chat and she could just move on, she just brings it back up again because she can't stop thinking about it, and goes into a menhera death spiral from there. The more you appreciate the larger context of Sayu the more it becomes clear that all of this is self-inflicted and a product of Sayu's personality.

While Zaion's termination shined a bigger light on Niji EN's internal misconduct than Yugo's abrupt departure, it still is time for her to seek outside mental help to move on. She is well aware that most of her NijiEN relationships were superficial, and she's aware that she was just a coworker that was only there a few weeks to Pomu and Selen, but yet she seems unable to accept that, nevermind her thoughts Kotoka and Finana (while also wishing them well...despite all that). Everyone was done dirty by NijiEN, but her making a big show about it every month or so isn't helping her situation either.
And with last night's breakdown and how she talked about having no problem selling her body after high school for cash im likely misquoting so someone correct me on what I got wrong, that mentality of doing anything for quick money is an extremely worrying sign of her self destructive mindset. I'm not against vtubers opening up or having a feel good cry-session every now and then, but with that many to this extent, it's starting to feel uncomfortable as an audience member because there's nothing you can do to help her.

Like the part when she complained about people she stood up for not thanking her for it... Well, I'm sure Doki isn't mentioning past because her therapist told her to, same for other ex-nijis, doing the same either due to therapist recommendation or common sense. I am certain at least some of them do appreciate Sayu for speaking up but in case of ex-nijis it isn't beneficial for them to go back to that painful past, they have their own lives to live and are extremely busy building up their new brands. Dwelling on painful memories would bring down the moods and be detrimental to their growth. As for people who are still stuck in Niji... most of them are jsut bad people and the few who might still be good... we know from Doki's case and her communication being limited to steam name changes that they can't even talk properly on their non-niji accounts.
