Henya and Doki never changed their content, and in some cases are flourishing even harder because they no longer feel constrained by previous obligations and issues. Henya got all the stuff VOMS couldnt give her and Doki can actually fucking breathe without the boot in her neck

On the other side, Matara and Mint changed their core content and also changed their vibe (they no longer answer to corpos so they can go harder in bits and jokes) and that has turned away some people. Hell some people got turned away at the model and that's a valid reason too.

Also, and this is coming from my friend, she stopped watching Rando after his return because his worse habits kept in check by Holo have intensified also thereason why he now has a fanbase here but she keeps up with Kson.

Tiger Drop is still extremely powerful in Yakuza Kiwami 2, it's just not "One shot most bosses" powerful.

I'd say the bigger issue is the way context sensitive moves work in the Dragon Engine games means sometimes you'll do another move that's mapped to the same input because the enemy was holding a weapon.

The thing about tiger drop is that it was kind of a must get in Kiwami 1 because of how annoying Majima would get with his 11 health bars late game. Even if you equipped beads to disable encounters, you could still get surprised by him.
In Kiwami 2 none of the enemies and boss are hard nor chunky so you absolutely don't have to rely on tiger drop anymore. It's a nice little extra damage when you do get it, but that's about it.
