The main sub has been a lost cause for stars content for a long time. The anti male vtuber sentiment is hololive unique, for the most part at least, and it's what happens when a good bit of your audience is overly horny gooning parasocial weebs. Its a good part of the reason i generally almost never watch any Vtubers stream with the chat on. The fanbases just being obnoxious, and that especially applies to Hololive. Most of the time posting stars content on the main sub is usually pretty low interaction, and also a few pissed off unicorns in the comments down voting everything. The main sub is a haven for the unicorns anyways. There's quite a few of them on there to begin with, and plenty of other members on the main sub don't push back against them, or even agree on at least a few things with the unis. It's why you see so much "both sides bad" lip service on their. Because unicorns down voting anything stars based, notably harrass male and female talents when they interact with each other (like Kronii and Vesper), and throw tantrums whenever they see anything boys related, just generally want stars gone permanently, the stars fans who just want the boys to be treated as an equal by the fanbase and the company, apparently those stars fans are just as toxic as the talent harassing unicorns and manchildren. I think gura burning out and the 2022 homo push have the same root cause: bad branch management.
Everything Gura ever tried to do leading up to her burn out they fought her on or fucked with or shot down, it'd be a new story every single month about some fantastic idea she had or merch she wanted to do (and make millions on, no doubt) or event like her 3D birthday and management would just fuck literally. every. single. thing. over.
