The adblocking situation for Twitch is fucked. None of the methods people are certain always work have worked for me. I've tried most everything listed in that ttv ad solutions github. Most people refuse to believe they can't work since it works for them, too, but there is an element of randomness to it. Meanwhile some euro I know doesn't get ads on Twitch and all he has is ublock with no special setup for Twitch specifically, while living in a country that does get ads. There's no consistency to it.
I haven't watched a Twitch stream since they started splicing the ads into the HLS stream since I close the stream as soon as I see the blocked pre-roll, or a mid-stream ad. Granted I stopped watching much of anything on there since the site was broken for me from 2014 - 2018 or 2019 in some rare bullshit way that just failed to load most of the page 80% of the time. Could only watch through streamlink but even then I'd need to know when a stream was on, so I almost never did.
On Youtube I genuinely forgot ads were a thing because I have not seen one in over a decade. Somehow managed to avoid any during the mini war Youtube and Ublock were having.

EN branches are carried by their massive JP brands so it's hard to gauge how much they've really grown as themselves, though for Niji their graces are quickly evaporating.

The only really successful EN corpo on YT is Phase, and their biggest hitters also stream on Twitch and increasimly mingle with that crowd.
On the other end, Idol and the Brave corpos are still dumping loads and loads of money trying to create a self-sustaining crowd on YT but to very little effect, stuck in 3view hell like all the others.

If anything it's actually kyOresu and other indies who regularly upload content that have the best prospects on YouTube, simply because they can participate as real Youtubers and grow like how the site intended, instead of larping as livestreamers lost on the wrong platform.

Then I decided to check Twitch's tag, which is way easier and probably wouldn't limit my results like the past one (since Flare, Axel and Aururan could be find using only Hololive), which already proves the point that discovering indie vtubers in YT is not as easy, and ended up finding 3 JP 4view vtubers, some others in 3views, and like two that aren't connected to VShojo while having more than 1000 viewers.

First off, mobile user and retarded, surprising combo
Second of all, if you are in Android, just like Revanced, there's apps for it you can also put it in audio only and there's barely any ads. Same with YT, if you are in IPhone you are screwed. And, most of the time, if you aren't fucking poor, you can just buy a subscription, or just like Premium there's also Turbo (which removes ads).
Third, you still get ads in YT in mobile.

I have an iphone. I haven't gotten a youtube ad since they released brave browser on ios in 2019. I used to watch twitch when you could still close a stream and reopen it in the app to skip ads but they fixed it years ago so I just uninstalled it. There's no one worth watching there anyway, especially not vtubers.
