/wasp/ had its own series of problems. It was a thread made in jest or with an undercurrent of malicious misandry to it. Probably both honestly. It also presented a target rich environment. It attracted all sorts of unicorns, gachis and whatever else hair splitting terms you want to name from other threads who then proceeded to bite on every single post they saw. It's why /asp/ has been such a shitshow lately too. Too many people either with good intentions (stupid) or bad intentions ("because it's funny sometimes") continually biting on recycled and reposted bait 3000 times a day. It stops when you starve it. There's not enough new arrival traffic in these threads to blame clueless newbies for biting on drama and gossip posts so that means that either natives are falling into the two categories above and should stop, or it's just the baitposters self-replying. Regardless, you report them until meido finally wakes up and executes them and focus your post cooldowns on posting content and responding to constructive, on-topic posts.

It might be, it goes bac k to the first question, but commonly you will have a pretty good amount of success when it comes to networking, you can pretty easily find those who are good and consistent collabers real quick, as well as finding out which ones are trustable friends, you learn pretty easily how raiding works and create a plethora of people worth raiding whenever you finish streaming, you can also learn how to edit, how to make highlights, how to gain followers, how to make your stream more interesting, how to set up a better audio/overlay/engagement methods... It all depends, but your efforts will pay back if you try hard enough on a lot of the fields that make up vtubing.
