I find similar things to be true, but with opposite effects.
I can't endure streams for too long because the anxiety of hearing other people talking becomes too uncomfortable. And even though I'm usually not lonely, the whole vtuber experience results in even more loneliness, like scratching at a dormant rash or something.

People have been doing this for decades. It's why some people will turn on the TV when they're alone. So there's some background noise to their environment that features people talking instead of crushing silence that reminds them they're alone.

It's only a problem if you start having unnecessary thoughts about your relationship with the person you're watching.
