If they stop streaming then obviously their engine has stalled. I mean it's always been a really ambitious goal to begin with, I never thought they'd get there honestly and am impressed-enough that they even have a legit shot at it. However as has been said several times the moving arc really really dampened things. They'd probably be at like 850k by now realistically or even better if they were for example big players in the hardcore minecraft mini-arc.

They're missing the boat on various buffs and they need to be within striking distance of a mil to try to bridge it spamming karaokes/subathons etc, they need to get to like 950 first to try to make people get a sense a mil is really-really possible and they're not even close to there yet.

They killed their whole momentum by disappearing after going to Japan and THEN streaming only Japanese immediately after "returning". If they hadn't done that and kept it at their original pace then they'd probably have it in the bag. Now they were in another break recently and that was just another killing blow. I don't think they can recover from it, I mean of course they're gonna go past 1 mil but it'll be at the normal pace most holos do, nothing like the skyrocket they had at the start.

They had a shot, but they overbooked themselves in early Jan/Feb, right before they moved. Now a lot of those projects are starting to really heat up and it's taking a toll on them mentally and physically, and because they took on too much to handle, they broke their voices, got slapped by management with a week suspension, and are now killing any momentum they had with streaming.
Mococo said during the stream on Saturday that they think it will be WORSE for streaming amounts from now until September. That means they took on so much shit on the back end that they are backed up until September, and unlike a stream which they can cancel, these activities can't be halted and they need to be physically (voice) ready for them, so management is whipping them as we speak to make sure they can manage everything in a timely manner.
1m isn't even going to be possible by the end of the year at this rate, and they bumped it up to that before not talking about it AT ALL on Sat.

Mococo had issues with pollen and allergies. People wrote off the first week of her having scratchy issues to that, but then they went and did Golden Week, where in order to appease the fans (10% of their member's stream VoD comments) who were worried about a lot of upcoming JP streams pushed themselves to do EN streams ON TOP of the JP ones. It fucked Moco-chan's voice completely. They already were seeing a otolaryngologist in Canada and they made an alarming mem post way back when. It's just all coming to fruition because on top of the vocal issues, they overbooked themselves with homework and now have 3d stuff to prepare for on top of it, so Moco-chan's voice got shredded and Fuwawa's was starting to sound rough in the stream before the cancellation of the RnR party.

Even at their debut people were bringing up how their voice acting wasn't just like pro Japanese voice acting. It's more like semi-pro American voice acting that excessively tries to squeeze the throat and scrunch up the vocal chords to make them sound like toddlers. It's a very destructive process, like an amateur trying to run a marathon or compete in the Olympics without the proper training. What they need is to go on hiatus and go to a professional Japanese voice acting school, then come back with new voices that won't degrade so easily.
