Who tf on the west will watch these 2? They are literally a duo of nobodies outside of jp and maybe chinkland. Does nijisanji really thinks their 2 most successful chuuba is on the same scale as hololive's top chuuba in terms of worldwide popularity?

Chronoir might be popular on nipland but without the jp and chinks fujoyumes these 2 are just a duo of fagmales in the sea of homos.

And niji have this bright idea of giving them a concert on the west?

I don't understand what management was thinking giving them an entire concert overseas when they can't even be bothered to make their regular niji jp content more accessible to English fans. I'm not saying to pander to eops, but they randomly added a region lock to their concerts and performances just last year. I mean, chronoir's last concert was region locked for online viewing, and that's without mentioning the troubles you have to go through if you want to actually go see the concert in Japan in person. So why are they now suddenly trying to use them to promote niji in the west?
All this would've been fine if they were just more humble and picked a smaller venue. A lot of niji jp concerts in the past were held in even smaller venues despite the far higher popularity, so why not just do that for the very first western performances?

It made no sense because it just randomly got added with no explanation one day (for the nijifest 2023 live stages), and their overseas "alternative" were stagecrowd tickets. The catch with those? Not only is that also only available in only a select few countries, but it also had some songs straight up removed due to copyright.
If you want to gatekeep that hard then it makes 0 sense to try and use those same jp livers to "boost" popularity in the west. I mean not every oversea fan can go to LA and pay for AX either, they should've just put in this effort into making their regular content more accessible to western fans.

you do know they have had other JP talents attend cons and meet and greets in the west before, right? You're assuming this is some last ditch attempt to appeal to fans, but it's more likely they saw the demand from those events and decided to have their big names with obviously bigger fanbases perform. Anyway, I don't understand why this board is so interested in whatever kurosanji event is going on. We already know they're not going to sell out AX.

At least 90% of their fans are Japanese, same as the majority of Niji jp, and it's not like you can count on all the overseas fans to make a trip to LA. This was just a dumb miscalculation by Riku, they should've just given them a free panel, a guest appearance or at most a smaller venue.
As someone that actually does watch them I just hope they don't take it to heart too much if they don't manage to sell out (which is likely), especially since Kuzuha always feels like he doesn't deserve to perform on such big stages. At least it's not a solo performance I guess, that would be even worse in terms of pressure.

Proof you don't watch them then, Kuzuha especially, Kuzuha used to go to karaoke booths daily to practice singing before he knew he could get a singing coach because he was motivated to do better. This isn't 2020 anymore he actually enjoys doing this stuff. His birthday solo live was his first time being involved with planning the songs/writing his original music/planning graphics and stuff and he's gushed about how fun it is. Kanae on the other hand isn't even a question as he's been into the idol aspect for a while now. Dude even got invasive eye surgery in order to be better at dance practice since he didn't like glasses or contacts.

Dude, you're SEVERELY understating just how popular these two are. these mf are popular to a mainstream extent like well beyond any vtuber
just because YOU don't know about them, it doesn't mean that they aren't huge, ask any woman who's into anime, they're THE group right now

>> No.76021847

There is a difference between enjoying singing and enjoying being an idol. I'm well aware of Kanae's past life (that scene is how I got into vtubers in the first place), and it's not like I'm saying they hate it. They just still, to me at least, seem like theyre streamers first, idols second.

That might be the case in Japan but their reach is MUCH smaller on other places.

It's already a tall order to get people to buy tickets for a concert of an artist they know AND an AX ticket, most people won't go to a show of an artist duo they don't even know about.

I don't doubt there is at leas SOME demand for their show. But filling that Venue will be an insanely difficult task considering all the factors at play.

First anon you replied to, I agree with you that they're idols and that they themselves wanted to be, I see them as half streamers half idols. I'm just concernfagging since they've always had amazing performances (numbers wise) and it'd suck to see them lose confidence because they performed badly overseas. Kuzuha said it after their concert in Osaka that he sometimes thinks that there's maybe people more deserving of those opportunities than him because he doesn't 100% dedicate himself to idol reps and he still doesn't like his own singing, etc. Although even if the tickets sell badly, all that means is that they just don't have a lot of reach overseas which isn't that bad since almost all of their fans are Japanese anyway.

It's even worse when you realize that they don't even add English subtitles to their videos. They do a 30 minute video every week on their chronoir channel and don't even bother giving it subs. If they want to have English speaking chronoir fans and have these fans buy their merch then why don't they make it possible for EOPs to consume chronoir content? Right now the only new chronoir videos available in English are from a clipper (no surprise that Niji is depending on free labor). Riku is a fucking retard, this concert has probably been in the works for at least four months and from then to now they've done nothing to build up an English chronoir fanbase (and even then the EN chronoir fanbase should be something they should've tried to build up before an overseas concert was decided upon).
