They make me happy. I was still lonely and vulnerable before chuubas, but I was also miserable.
Only dream I had was getting enough courage to kill myself, now I want to maybe one day visit Japan and watch a concert in person, if I can save enough money in my shitty third world job.
I also lost a shitton of weight, but I'm not sure how much of that was a reflection of me being happier and more positive because of chuubas or if it's just a coincidence.
I know it's pathetic, fake and unhealthy to derive my happiness from this, but it's not like I had real happiness before, so it's still a net positive to now have fake happiness. The feelings are real, and so are their impact on who we are.
Fake happiness beats real misery.

This is a bait thread but for anyone seriously looking:
- Monetary support is voluntary and similar to supporting political streamers, game streamers, makeup streamers etc. that you enjoy. The added bonus is that with your superchat, you can influence the streamer towards creating the kind of content you want.
- If you spend money expecting to meet the girls yourselves, it's certainly your own funeral.
- Even without paying any money you get plenty of free entertainment and singing. Scouting for vsingers (like in the /vsinger/ thread) should give you countless hours of music. You get so many gaming streams that you will get sick of it.
- You join in a community of vtuber fans who you can discuss games, anime, music, vtubers with. Whether they are toxic shitposters on 4chan or semi-polite people on certain discords. This will arguably provide more social interaction and interesting knowledge than the vtubers themselves, like the /tg/ folks that joined in Calli's TTRPG sessions.
