Some of Smash's hitbox silliness can at least be explained by the how the Z-Axis is a thing. I wonder how many people are aware playing on Flat Zone actually effects gameplay since everyone is smushed into 2D.

We already went over it in a previous thread.
I just double checked myself right now just to make sure before going to sleep but here's the gist:
There's a reason why I'm the only Ina still playing in my region, she just hard loses against all of the cast no exceptions. It feels like they tried to make Ina a 'honest' character, it even shows in how polished her animations are compared to the rest of the cast, but if you're in a kusoge you need to have kusoge moves or you're not viable.
Her problem is that her kit have no synergy whatsoever. Her zoning tools have poor to no confirm options, and her combo routes can straight up be denied by her own normals.

Her 2M hurtbox is just abysmal. You WILL get it on recovery or whiff, you WILL lose any trade too. Her far-combo is just 2M>2H. 2H DOES NOT CANCEL INTO ANYTHING. No special, no cancel, nothing.
You can argue that you're supposed to use 2M>3H or 2M>4H, but this has major issues.
=> 1. If you're in range for 3M you're also in range for anyone in the cast to counter-poke for maximum damage, and as we saw poking with her 2M is just asking for punishment.
=> 2. Going for 3M means you CANNOT use a fireball, you lose the back charge.
Your far-combo that can
=> 3. 4H is cancellable for the fireball.... which won't connect, can be reacted or even counter-special ON HIT unless you're in the corner. And no, forget about the down charge because
=> 4. 1H will just buffer into 2H. You were not going to combo that 2>8 charge from that far anyway.

Why the FUCK does 3M exist? There's already an universal move for the overhead with better startup, better active and better complete recovery.
Her only route allowing you to use charges that will NOT whiff is (L)>2M>2H. And this still has a change to not connect if you're not in your opponent face... which Ina doesn't want to be. Which means that basically her charge moves are not to be used in neutral, only in combos. The worst offender being that useless fireball.

There's more but I'm too tired to think. But the most important thing to remember is not even all of this kit, but how that's what she got to fight in a kusoge.

While we're complaining about how Ina is designed, why do Takos go away when Ina's hit? They're not like Sora's notes Pre-Next Fes where they could get Sora out of combo if you were really unlucky and without meter Ina is not winning a projectile war with a Tako enhanced blast.

Oh ok this is a smash term thing again. Boxing is when you can use your moves, usually things that are quick, midrange, and have a bit of disjoint, to play keep away and control a space rather than actively go on the offense. So like how ROB can use dtilt to poke and force people away to control his personal space better.

Zoning and boxing are kinda different. Zoning is like keeping someone at a distance, boxing is stuffing them out when they get too close. And then there’s also swordies who keep people at range with disjoints, which is also kinda different. Smash has too many archetypes

We might have to filter some of these since it doesn't seem their main game is fighting even if they DO play it once in a while. We aren't really at the point anymore where we are hurting for streamers like we did a year ago but its all appreciated just the same. She’s more of a midranger than a full charge zoner. 3M is more for mixup once she gets a knockdown and unlike the universal overhead it starts combos without assists, for example 3M>3H>28M>whatever. Her gameplan feels more like slowly backing you into a corner and poking you until she can get a checkmate situation. For 2H, you’re supposed to jump cancel into j.M to continue the combo. That said, while she has grime, she does feel a bit too “fair” to be truly great. I dunno, she doesn’t feel like someone like Pekora that just doesn’t let some characters play the game, or like the shotos that feel like they can handle any situation you throw at them. She can definitely work but it doesn’t feel oppressive or versatile, if that makes sense.
