Plus, the director specifically says it was due to a political incompatibility with the volunteers. Not much in the way of other reasons to deal with Pippa differently, save maybe that it's much less deserved in her case, as she doesn't do politics as her primary content.

In any case, I assume the volunteers posted up her tweets on their Discord/Email or whatnot, as part of their complaints, once they found she was coming, rather than their having decided "long ago". The director was trying to stop a potential fallout--Kirsche is also associated with a major sponsor--so he spend the time on a longer explanation and even provided evidence he didn't have to. For Offkai themselves, the only thing I could recommend is moving the con to a more neutral state for future years, I don't think allowing volunteers to threaten you into pulling potential attendees based on whatever whim they're feeling like that year is good practice regardless of political affiliation.
