Some retro-styled indie games have started adding CRT filters. It's weird to me because I don't have nostalgia for blurred pixel art since I grew up playing the N64 and GBA. So I've never thought unblurred pixel art was strange until I saw people point out how the art in games like Chrono Trigger and Super Mario RPG took advantage of CRT blur.

I recently played a few SNES games after Soya's Secret of Mana streams, SoM itself being one of them. Also Megaman X and couple others.
And yes, sure, it looks pixellated - because the original games were meant to be viewed in something like 640x480 max on a screen 20 feet away. Now they are in your face stretched to 1280x1024 or something, one foot away.
And honestly they still look fine to me. They absolutely do not look anything at all like memes about tryhard CRT filters make them seem.

same experience here and I started with duck hunt
most of them look fine, some look better with a light filter if you can sort one out
replayed DKC a while back and it looked a lot better with a light filter, but it was one of those games that really relied on the shading and trying to look 3D
