Lies of P is so forgiving with its checkpoints, too. And you can retrieve. Sekiro doesn't have any of that. It's also less linear, so more chance of encountering a fucked up fight early.

I played through Hirata Estate before progressing past the snake. Honestly I think it works great as a tutorial, and I spent about as much time, if not more, than Bae on it. I also love the detail across the game of Sekiro getting more and more confident about drawing his sword, you can see him hesitate a little when fighting Genichiro and Butterfly, but by the time he fights Genichiro at the end he's doing it fast and flawlessly

Juzou is the worst of them since there is not a lot of options to approach.
