Vtubing industry would be better off if Nijisanji never took off. They popularized Live2D low effort streams and endless new generations to overwhelm the oldschool-style vtubers until they couldnt keep up and fell into irrelevancy. Nijisanji indirectly contributed to downfall of Ai, killed Akari, and hurt Siro. Think of random vtuber you liked from before 2018, if they stopped growing or retired altogether, its Nijisanji's fault. The creative landscape full of new gags, concepts, and gimmicks that characterized early vtubing during oyabun's reign was replaced with samey boring stream format. Everyone else like Hololive are forced to adapt at the end. You can see this clearly on the fact that Sora, Miko, and Robocco were 3D since their early days.

Accelerate is the only thing they should be held responsible for out of that list. The fact of the matter is that consistent streaming is simply more profitable and more stable for creators than periodic video releases. That meta would have been discovered sooner or later whether Niji was there or not.

This is completely untrue and you will find many content creators will tell you this, including streamers. Streaming is far less profitable and stable than video content, with the exception of the top 0.01% and those that farm whales for constant donations. The issue was that for video streams you needed to be creative and make an initial investment, whereas for streaming you could be any old dumbass that could turn the cam on and go live. You can see in the regular reports from hololive that their streaming income hit a plateau a long time ago, and you can see that most of their talents that capitalize it fixate on reading supas, even dedicating whole streams to just reading the comments people send. This is very low quality content that virtually amounts to slurping on someone's dick.
The most money in content creations is still made with video uploads. Now with AI the content farms have found a way to throw out millions of videos every week as a big business. You don't even have to be a soulless content farm though, because good quality video content is always going to outdo live stream content for the foreseeable future. Note, that doesn't mean corpos produce or try to get their talents to produce good video content.

The obvious problem here is that the video content world is saturated, or oversaturated. Entering it now means facing a lot of competitors with deep pockets, and adding a 3D anime girl isn't going to help you stand out. Couple that with the much higher cost of production, and you have a venture that isn't likely to succeed.
