The only reason I come here is because I didn't think she came here anymore. I'm not going to leave her while she's like this because that feels horrible. I'll take a further step back for reflection when she has recovered. The hiatus announcement filled me with nothing but guilt and regret. The days leading up to the announcement I stopped watching for a couple streams, thinking she'd be around forever and I could simply come back. I don't consider her my 'wife' and I never did. She's a streamer whose success and happiness are easy for me to root for, due to her admirable demeanor and "story" as presented to me. I think most longstanding and even dedicated viewers feel this way, with the wife business being a bit of collective and fun kayfabe. I have nothing but contempt for old guard viewers who leverage their status to hurt and manipulate someone who's just trying to make others happy. It's particularly frustrating because I know their mental illness and narcissistic entitlement combined with her passive nature will mean that she'll never kick them from her community. The first stream of hers I watched was when she was just a PNGtuber. This would've been in 2021, when I was only half-invested in the medium due to the vtuber boom during covid. I had heard she was a GFE type of streamer and I was both morbidly curious and skeptical over how healthy that type of content is. When I saw her live and recognized her name, I tuned in. I read her channel rules and descriptions, about her being the viewer's wife, about chocolate offerings, about a girl wandering into a forest and staying there, it was charming and immediately endearing. I picked up even then a bit of irony, of being winked at and suggesting beneath a layer of seriousness that it was all in good fun. Even though, if I remember right, she was only streaming to 600ish viewers, I knew then that she'd go further.
I watched her on and off from then but only subbed and watched her regularly beginning in early 2023. I don't know what kind of viewer you are in comparison to that but I hope if we agree on anything, it's that the streams are better when she's happy and does not feel beholden to the people who want to keep her unhappy.
