It's almost certainly a legal thing rather than anything to do with how anyone feels about it- if Cover itself comes off as trying to profit off of the work and likeness of an employee they terminated the contract of it give said employee grounds to sue them, I would assume. Emphasis "Cover itself," as talents aren't held to this standard for their individual projects (like how Marine was allowed to keep Rushia's appearance in the Set Sail MV.) And of course this doesn't apply when the talent leaves voluntarily because there's still presumably a contract that dictates the rules for how they can use the talent's work/likeness, how they get paid for it, etc.
