I just watch for general entertainment. Gura can be bad in a funny way like with Metroid, but she gets assblasted and gives up too quickly. Her songs aren't generally city pop nor are they archived. Her hijinks aren't especially off the wall. She's incredibly marketable, but that in and of itself is like being McDonald's old sweet chili sauce without the kick. Everyone can handle it, but it was never truly gonna be a more discerning foodie's favorite fast food sauce without that kick. Gura doesn't have kick, and that's why she gets shit on for being a corporate mascot.

Now that the en vtubing sphere has become so homogenous, niche specialization is the new untapped growth sector ie Apex Dragon.

People shit on DSP, but there's still something to be said about streamers who power through and let themselves get shit on. Even he who shall not be named didn't kill himself despite his entire life being fucked from start to finish. And as long as people are laughing and entertained, a streamer's done their job.

Then gura comes in, a thin skinned insecure western woman, and she ragequits when people start laughing at her or it turns out she's not good at a game. It's not entertaining or respectable. It just shuts down people's fun like an octopus hiding her 5head.

If people aren't having fun then they're not gonna watch. Entertainers would do well to keep that in mind.
