I've never given a single cent to a chuuba, directly for sure, but also indirectly I try my hardest not to. I'm not subscribed to a single chuuba. In fact I go as far as watching most of the streams via mpv which youtube doesn't count toward eitherlive views or VOD views. The algorithm most likely gets engagement on streams I have to actually click on when I go to channels to watch VODs, but otherwise I will never, EVER be a pay pig.

I only first heard about vtubers in July or so of last year. I could only watch clips because I can't speak Japanese, so I was pretty hype for them to be debuting an English generation. this hype was then dashed when they were all turbo cringe. More and more indie english speaking vtubers kept cropping up but I never found on I liked. But over time since September I grew to like Amelia, I don't know if she massively improved or if my standards decreased but I started watching her streams more often and going back to watch vods and she quickly became my favorite. Nijisanji debuted their english girls back in April but I never really looked into them until about a month or so ago. I didn't really like any of them until I watched Pomu. I really like her and have gone back to watch almost all of her vods. Ever since finding Pomu I have noticed that I am growing disinterested in Amelia's streams. I don't dislike her or anything and I will still watch, but I don't get that excitement to get a notification for Amelia like I do for Pomu. Amelia will never know this or even know I exist at all, but somehow this still makes me feel guilty. I'm sorry, Amelia. I'll always be subbed to you.
