There isn't a story anymore, no "diamond in the rough", no "follow your oshi as she ascends", no "watch them grow". At least during the Myth era you had this tension of "will Vtubing in the west succeed" and then with Council people were wondering whatever Myth was a lightning in a bottle or not. Now? It's like watching someone play with cheat codes.

Watching Myth emerge and hold their own and Cover going from whomst to the big league was really cool. I expected Haachama and Coco to play a bigger role but whatever. I genuinely wanted them to succeed.
Nowadays I just funpost in the new snooty bitches chat because what am I supposed to cheer on? Who are they? Can they tell us what they're aiming for? What their plans are?

The China meltdown happening at the time was an extra level of kino, but because of it we missed on a lot of good interactions. I still remember that stream where Haachama spent hours on the EN Minecraft server and no one came to visit her while she was building.

you just have to shift your priorities. the story falls to the wayside. now it's just entertainment, which they do offer, but so do others, so you're free to pick whoever you want to get your fill.
