Look at your vroid. Is it pretty? If yes, try getting some nice art. What niche do you want to cater to? Look at threads here and see which one checks out for you, be it ASMR, jong or even choco. Which will you be posted to? Selfpost there, just don't make it too obvious. If none, who do you cater to? Who would like to watch you and where do they browse? YouTube? Make videos and shorts. Twitter? Post memes and make yourself seem cool and funny. TikTok? Make tiktoks. Twitch? Well, good fucking luck, find some indie a bit bigger than you and try to get her attention.
If your vroid is ugly, go on booth and nizima, look for models 2d or 3d that are free (booth only) or very cheap, if it's l2d you can recolor it a bit to make it yours. Find nice overlays and graphics on booth too. People don't care about exclusivity if this exclusivity looks worse than premade stuff.

Meta quest 2 is on sale and the cheapest headset that most people use. It's gonna be outdated soon as facebook is gonna release a Meta quest 3 for a low price but if you can find it cheap on sale or used, the meta quest 2 is the most cost effect VR headset for now. You do need body trackers though if you plan to do VR roleplay streams.

2) A debut is basically slides and stuff introducing yourself, look up V4mirai's recent debuts to have a good idea what a good debut looks like and adapt some ideas.
3) The easiest way of growing your fanbase is to post yourself in /asp/ if you're starting out. The networking power of posting yourself in the thread is crazy and girls tend to get 20-30 viewers straight up just for being female. You have to be interesting to grow more than that now though.

Vroid is fine, people like to see vtubers grow from nothing. Remember to post yourself in the threads if you're debuting so more people can check you out.

This thread in the past month has been infested with trolls and schizos that bully. I'd suggest posting yourself in /asp/ where it's friendlier currently, making a few friends and try avoiding the threads after a few weeks because then the schizo trolls will try to ruin your mental state if you cant handle it.

The best advice I can give is to avoid this thread, never join any discords run by people here, and post yourself in /asp/. /wasp/ was a spin-off of /asp/ by a couple schizos and most girls never moved over. /asp/ still has a couple schizos who bully, but the faster nature of the thread tends to drown them out.

A couple of things:
1. Once, I entertained the delusion that I could become a vtuber, but once I remembered that I would likely be objectified to a point that I would find uncomfortable or likely forced to become like most of the other ones, it's been locked up.
2. It also sucks that I would likely collab with people who share my interests and that I wouldn't give a shit what they were because it's already niche enough out there as it is, but people would still accuse me of being a whore despite it not being that way at all.

1) You will always be “objectified” playing an anime character. Vtubers will always have fans that are down bad for them. You would benefit from separating yourself from the character you play if it makes you that uncomfortable.

2) if you chose to collab with males or IRL streamers you can still be successful but be prepared to struggle a bit with growth and monetary support. You won’t get hate in most places but you will be cutting off a large portion of a potential audience.
