There's zero chance at the Amazon warehouse I worked at they would let you listen to streams, there's like 8 forklift guys on a shift of several hundred people, they isolate you for 10 hours at a station, they are too far away to talk to anyone else comfortably, and the people you're close to are randomly assigned every day, you likely won't end up next to the same person twice in a month, and a large percentage of them are immigrants who can barely speak english, most of the day is moving at a steady and kind of fast pace, if you go slow for any reason, even if it's not your fault, you get harassed by some random faggot with a laptop for 5 minutes for not hitting the 300 item/h rate. You get written up for having a phone out, so you're with nothing but your own thoughts, and the constant beep of the machines. You get 15 minute breaks, but the breakrooms are a 5 minute walk away from your station most days because the warehouse is so big, so you might as well just stay at your station, but you get written up if you sit down at your station. You get talked to if you take more than 5 minutes to go to the bathroom, the bathroom is a 2 minute walk each way most days. No one gives a fuck about anything, the bins are fucked to get things in and out of because people are going so fast they just jam whatever they have in there. Managers don't exist unless you're in trouble, at one point I had an issue and needed to talk to my manager and your station has a "call manager button" I had it pressed for 3 10 hour shifts in a row until I gave up and decided to just tank my rate one day, and what do you know, he showed up in like an hour.

I only hear terrible things about working in Amazon warehouses, but I don't actually know how true it is. Whereas I'm working in the shipping department in a food processing plant and it's by far the most chill department in this place and the pay isn't the worst.
It's just me and one other guy running it every night and we can just work at our own pace most of the night while still having the last few hours of the shift to do literally nothing expect dink around on our phones until we punch out. It's a sweet gig really.

As a awkward mega introvert, working in retail just felt so fucking soul draining. The work itself was easy, but it took all of my energy to be able to properly interact with customers with a smile on my face on a daily basis. Although there were likely many many times where the mask was transparent, I really did my best though, and people seemed to notice my hard work even though I felt like I was running at 50% all of the time.
I hated it, but it was necessary a experience that gave me more to put on my resume.
If you don't live in a city, maybe you can find some more quieter retail work around that isn't as stressful. I was lucky enough years ago that I got hired at my local convenience store, it wasn't even a busy place but it still took so much social energy out of me...

I was refraining from saying anything before out of an abundance of caution, but I think now is a good time to point out:
She did say, back in January I think it was (and I think in the same stream where she said the issue preventing her from streaming had been resolved), that she wanted to take it slow. I realize it indicates just how dire things had gotten and somewhat still are, but the fact of the matter is that a ~50-ish day "ghosting" cycle (not counting the Twitter space, which frankly we should), interspersed with Fes, travel and corporate collabs is, while nowhere near ideal, still not even half of the ghosting period that came before despite far more taking her attention in the background, and is therefore a massive improvement
Again, it's not where it SHOULD be, not yet, but I think anybody who could hear the word "slow" and think that meant that things would magically get back to the old days overnight is genuinely braindead
This confirms it in my mind - the goal is still a ways away and we should temper our expectations as such, but this is a step in the right direction that shows we're on the right trajectory
Maybe semi-constant streaming through 2024, with two or three more ghosting streaks of gradually shorter lengths (one month, then two weeks, etc.), then finally back to her prime come New Years' 2025?
