The more I think about it, a Great Sword might be the best weapon for Mori. A simple moveset that lets you do big damage, and tail cuts on monsters that have it are always welcome. Hammer is good for horn breaks, but after maining Hammer for three games, I do feel like if you aren’t the best at head hunting to get knockdowns you might feel like you aren’t doing enough.

As someone with far too many hours in the Charge Blade across 4U/Gen/GenU/World/Rise; it's definitely not a 200IQ weapon. It's a flow-state weapon. The Charge Blade is like playing a fighting game as you're just constantly working your combo to build meter and deviating from the combo when it's time to counter, block, or super.

Hopefully she doesn't pick Lance or Gunlance. As someone who had a strong side affair with the Gunlance and a buddy who was a fellow lancer; those are probably some of the weakest weapons, both in terms of actual damage and how they feel to play.

I honestly think she should either check out Dual Blades or Great Sword. Long Sword is OP and would probably be fun as well for her; but all LS players deserve to rot in the vale.

I put like 400hrs into GL in World alone, and it was my main through all of 3U. I'm well aware of the weapons strengths and weaknesses. GunLance is FunLance but it's never been Top Tier and sits at the bottom in Rise for that matter.

Bowguns are very ammo-centric. I pretty much have a separate build and ammo setup for every armor I wear. That's how much the weapon requires from you for a weapon with such a limited moveset.
It's also very resource heavy very early on when you don't have access to the fully upgraded farm to harvest the materials in crafting bullet types you need.

DMC games only get hard once you play on DMD mode since all the regular enemies also gain their own Devil Trigger, so you pretty much have to utilize a lot of your weapons to pump out the damage they're healing.
The style rank isn't just there for show, but it also acts as a damage multiplier since most people don't realize this is a thing if the cannon fodder die too quickly.
The enemies, including the bosses, also gain more moves that aren't shown on lower difficulties.

The Souls games on the other hand are designed in a way that it can be beaten with nothing but your fists, so it's kind of funny how a lot of people say it's a hard game when they allow those kind of ridiculous play-styles.
The Souls games are difficult to understand, but they're not difficult to play. Some bosses and level designs are pretty bullshit though, but that's nothing new.

There's so much vertical space that none of the handheld games couldn't do because of the hardware limitations. The moment you figure out the secret pathways in making monster hunts more easier is mind-blowing. This was the missing formula for MH games: The "World" you explore.
When this game originally launched, I didn't even want to go back to playing the old ones anymore. Hunting the monsters on a flat plain alone doesn't do this series justice.

There's also plenty of side-quests you can do if you just go into the area without taking up any quests.
That's how you befriend the native cats in the biome, and they'll help you trap the monster if they're in the vicinity.
If you haven't befriended them, then they'll be pieces of shit who'll mess with you.
