As a person who watched the whole shitshow unfold in the past 2 months, it still amazes me how far down Niji has fallen

Like rewind the time back to January or when Kyo announced his graduation, there was a sister who spread huge amounts of cope by listing out members who will not leave the agency and NijiEN will survive, and that seemed to work until Anycolor killed Selen

Now NijiEN went from majorly loved to majorly hated. Their beloved CEO became a laughing stock. Sisters went full mask-off by talking bad about their ex-mems, being hostile towards anyone who had even a slight bad view on Niji, and simping the company with full force. Some members went complete silent or got their own big dramas to handle. And there are speculations that NijiEN as a whole may not survive in the forseeable future

Like this is supposed to be the 2nd biggest VTuber agency right under Hololive. Why did the company casually let this happen and lose their place in a matter of 2 months ?

Selen might have been a decent earner but from their perspective she was affecting the company's image. This seems to be a priority for them, regardless of money. Maybe a matter of vanity, fear of the public opinion or most likely a guilty collective mind fearing that their shitty practices break containment. It is because of this that when they terminate someone they throw at them as much shit they can think about, regarless of how retarded most of it sounds, the point is to pile as much garbage to ensure the terminated organ loses all credibility and comes as vindictive and malicious is he tries to speak truth. This worked perfectly fine with Zion.
They knew for Selen it would not be as easy, so they antagonized her in many fronts to force her to agree to an "amicable graduation".
When they recieved the document from the lawyer, they saw in front of their eyes the scenario they feared the most as because of her silence Selen managed to gain a lot of momentum and support, so her word would have a lot of weight. So they terminated her, threw as much shit as possible against her, but Selens attempt circunstance and momentum just made them look even worse, so they tried confronting organ vs organ using what they thought were they most popular organs, a plastic bottle and Mike to try to slander and discredit Selen through them. But again, they just made things worse for themselves, truth scaped containment and everyone now knows how much of a shitty company kurosanji is.
Hololive is playing smart, by trying to take advantage of the situation while covering its own ass.

There were already other problems like Luca irritating the fanbases of the girls. It was more akin to Nijisanji nuking practically all of their progress in 2 weeks that not only got the entire industry to outright HATE them, but it reached terminal velocity and hit mainstream.
Like at the rate NijiEN was going they likely would've fizzled out and merged with JP in 2-3 years from now, with only maybe the males being the only notable ones left in the EN Sphere, but there may have been a *slight* chance they could've gotten some momentum. But now there's a very real chance that Nijisanji as a whole might start to crumble. What always weirds me out is just how much Nijisisters unperson the talents that leave the company. No one is really negative about Sana. Most of us are pretty warm towards Rica. You can see this with DEV_IS and how many other Holo girls - including their top talents, the "first army" - were proping them up with collabs, mentions, and sometimes outright shilling. The main channel often tries to put different talents together in events, and even when Talents might have beef behind the scenes the management works to make sure they at least keep professionalism with each other.

No, it wasn't. Everything mentioning his video mentions it happening December 2015. There was only a single video of him "dying". He said he never mentioned it before because it was a bummer.
