No see, this drove me nuts. I played WoW from Vanilla to Warlords of Draenor where I quit.
In Vanilla you had 40 people running through Molten Core. We had Vaelstraz the guild breaker and Baron Geddon putting the bomb on people. We had magma dogs where you had to kill them all at the same time or they'd revive each other. Most of us were nerds from EverQuest so we pulled wins out, sure, but I played a warlock in Vanilla/TBC and I don't even remember summoning people that often. Everything just clicked.
I was a guild leader in Wotlk and I was so hardcore I had every class to max level so I could fill any spots my raids needed. There was a boss in Icecrown Citadel right after Lord Marrowgar, and all your raid needed to do was kill the adds, then get back on the boss.
I swear if I could just play everyone's characters we would have breezed by it but we kept getting stuck on the stupidest shit.
Then Cataclysm happened and the game has just pissed me off from there. I hear they're time gating gear so people who join in late can't catch up.
