As much as I hate the idea of management forcing Gura to do some sponsorships for them because of their greed, I'm impressed that she held it for an hour with her nonsensical blabbering but at the same time you still feel connected/engaged to the flow if you know what I mean. i worked on an equalizer preset to try to undo some of the damage from gura's new mic. there's only so much i can do, because a lot of the problems aren't directly related to frequency response, but i think this is definitely an improvement and should at least be a pretty good starting point if you want to play around with it yourself. i used a standard ISO 10-band setup because it's probably the most common thing people will have access to. if you want to enter this into a parametric EQ use Q=1.4 and a bell filter on every band.

i mean, it's mostly just removing excessive bass, which probably showed up because she was talking way too close to it a lot of the time. unfortunately the weirdness in the treble is going to vary pretty wildly from one pair of headphones to another. i worked on it with three different pairs, plus on speakers. i didn't make any real progress on the treble, and it's too late for me to turn the speakers up loud enough to A/B it to listen to the bass. but like i said i think it's at least an improvement, even though it's not going to be perfect. hopefully she just ditches it soon, because i really don't want to have to spend a lot more time working on a real parametric EQ correction for it.

in the end, using an SM7B for vocals still requires a treated room, there's no magic echo rejection, you can't talk three inches from it or you'll sound like kiara, and even when you do all that you end up with this ugly, colored, distorted sound because it's just a tarted-up SM57 diaphragm in there. after you get an unusually powerful mic preamp for it and spend hours EQing out the weird frequency response, sure, you can get it to sound pretty good for vocals. it's not inherently bad, but it's popular because it's cheap and because of all this fake folk wisdom spreading among podcasters and twitch streamers, all of whom sound like ass and who should have just bought a chinese side-address condenser and made a pop filter out of pantyhose and a wire hangar instead.

Red Bull has gotten me through many a nightshift, and before that manual labor. It's just that one is enough. Gura is making a mistake of drinking energy drinks and assuming that once the effect wears off and that it's time for sleep that the story is done. It isn't. The caffeine is still working through her system, and her sleep is "shallow" and not what it should be. So, she probably wakes up feeling tired and then uses energy drinks again once it's go time, which makes the problem go in circles. I speak from experience.
