I don’t know how she was originally but I don’t think she got this many opportunities before she was corpo. Now the marketing big wigs noticed that she used to be corpo and she has good numbers so she’s a good investment. Also you have to realize this is similar to BLM and LGBT marketing, companies think they can pretend to be the good guys who care about a cause to get more money, in this case these companies know that if they side with a girl who was treated badly by a company then they will earn good boy points and more customers from people who hate nijisanji. Majority of indies will never be sponsored for anything because they don’t even have an audience to begin with, to clarify when I say indie I mean the thousands of 1view or 2views that we don’t even know exist, not your 3view and 4views that are VShojo adjacent. Marketing people such as myself only care about numbers, Dokibird is currently a hot topic and if companies want to increase their own revenue and gain more customers they will do the smart thing and throw every offer her way. No company would care to work with some nobody who has never been in a company before or who has terrible numbers, that’s just how business works.

Doki's current manager is infinitely more competent and experienced than entire NijiEN team consisting of college students. He used to manage one of the most popular male streamers (xQc), and Doki's content quite nicely aligns with what he had to work with. You can definitely expect more sponsorships/brand collabs going her way. Still, I'd treat it as an exception because most indies can't get their hands on someone of that calibre and have to settle for something like Mythic.

Typically, they hire managers directly to arrange these kinds of things for them. It can be a pretty major expense and there's no guarantee you'll get a good one, whereas in theory if you join a corpo you get that as part of your employment, with a higher likelihood that you'll get a proven manager and brand support/publicity. It's sad, but in the end, a lot of it comes down to luck and networking. If you want to try to get something out of it, you might want to try getting vrchat and using that for full body stuff to show off dancing. I've seen some crazy cool shit using VR to show off full body movements. I simply don't have the time to since I work every day of the year and have 3 hours a day to stream. I used all the money donated to me to hire an editor so that I could focus on streams while she made videos and shorts, I even had my own editor for song covers but it just simply isn’t enough. sadly that's the actual secret for getting big.
To get big, you don't have to make "good" content. You have to make content that people either see, or want to see.
My favorite example is SmallAnt. He was streaming for YEARS to a small audience and was barely a 2view. Then he spent roughly a month destroying his life by researching trends 24/7 and developing a plan to game the youtube algorithm and a market to grow in, then focused autistically hard on it for up to 22 hours a day streaming, recording narrative commentary for the edited videos, editing the videos themselves, researching thumbnail and title theory, pushing it everywhere, buying ads, etc. Within a few more months his youtube videos started skyrocketing in popularity, and after a few years he's now streaming to mid-high 4view status with several youtube videos that regularly break the million view mark. He's absurdly talented on all forms of the content creation scale, but both him and his roommates say it probably wasn't worth it due to the stress that he and his family went through dealing with him during that time, and that there's no guarantee that anyone doing it would have the same luck, especially since he's still a workaholic constantly panicking over numbers despite being in a spot where he should reasonably be able to "coast." He's made several streams talking about it in the past using his twitch graphs and raw old footage as examples, as well as at least one AMA on reddit that might be helpful. Considering his niche is fucking speedrunning, it's absurd how big he's been able to get despite playing the same 2-3 games over and over again.

What's really kinda funny is that of all people it could happen to, by far Selen was the one who'd make the most out of leaving the company. She was the organizer, the commissioner, the one with all the contacts in the gaming scene, artist scene, marketing scene, and content creation scene that she'd ever need to work alone.
