There's cons and pros to everything.
Streaming in a bigger category, can give you a better chance of getting new viewers, but if its too popular, your 1view stream is gonna get drowned in a sea of streams.
Streaming on a smaller category, you'll be higher on the trending streams for it, but there's a chance no one is giving a fuck anymore and no one will see it.
It's a gamble either way. the best is to find a sweetspot between being popular but not too popular.

I'm trying to go all in on developing games, and I'm hoping that streaming will 1) give me a chance to really get to know a lot of other people who also love games. 2) encourage me to branch out with the types of games I play, and get to know how the average person perceives certain mechanics. maybe even hearing anecdotes from other peoples' first time playing. 3) make some good connections and friends. 3a) friends who I can join with to make an indie studio of sorts. 4) Market effectively when I actually do get a chance to a release. 5) it's just a lot of fun to talk with random people while playing games and cracking jokes.

I've had two of my viewers come to me and tell me I've helped them in various ways and motivated them and I consider that important. that's what matters to me, I helped them in a positive way and that brings meaning to me. DH since it's pretty much pick up and play, not really a lot of story to follow.
T2 has the best gameplay but it drags on a lot, the levels are massive.
T3 has the best of T1 and T2 but it is extremely linear and very short.
Evolution I only recommend the Xbox version, if you own a 360 or an og Xbox play that version, however that game is super underdeveloped, it was made in less than a year and had massive cuts, the story doesn't even make sense because of that.

I thought about a few potential artists (@9_1_ggg and @ywyw_MNTL) because they seemed capable of capturing the idea I'm after with my design before finding out someone whose art I've been a huge fan of for years was down to do live2d (something I thought was definitely not up their alley) and we've been working together ever since. As for riggers, I think it's important to curate them since they'll all have different skill levels and you may want to splurge here to get the most out of your art. That being said if you're just starting get a cheap .png, it's for your own good. See if you even LIKE vtubing, otherwise you'll be burning money for no real reason.
