When asked why she doesn't show chat on stream, Sora said it's to not make the VOD watchers feel so left out for she knows a lot of them are working. She often does little things like this, as well as watching her VODs back soon after the stream ends to catch what everyone was saying in chat to see if they're happy with the content. If not, she makes an effort to improve.

She reads pretty much every comment under the vod too. If you leave a comment and it receives 1 solitary thumbs up then it was likely her. She also limits her stream time at night during exam periods because she knows she has high school aged viewers and she doesn't want them to stay up too late watching her. Sora is an angel.

I think they all care, even the "controversial" ones care. If they didn't they'd quit, like Sana. This isn't throwing shade on her or anything, but she really didn't have the drive to go on and instead of this becoming painfully obvious she bit the bullet early on.

A better question is: if it got out be it an unmuted mic or whatever that your oshi doesn't really care, would you renounce her? Even if after that virtually nothing about who she is or her content changes?

Right. My point being that Sana very obviously cared early on, and be it her dog or her drawing gig, a combination of the two or a million other things she had going on in life, it is clear her interested waned. But I don't think she was ever malicious or that she viewed fans as paypigs.
I don't think Gura, Ayame or anyone notorious for taking extended breaks or talking to males is like this at all.
I'd say the only ones this applies to is to girls doing GFE. The ones that have no talents or qualities to speak of outside of that like Rushia.
While there are levels to how parasocial and willing to engage in fanservice vtubers are, I'd say girls like Marine and Kiara, Kiara especially since to me it seems obvious the girl's self-esteem is almost entirely comprised of the KFP that support her, that like flirting with fans and shit still provide content and give it their absolute best when doing projects such as covers, orisongs, or performing for fans.

But yeah, I think only girls that do nothing but GFE are ironically enough the only ones that just see fans as paypigs.
