I agree that HoloEN got dangerously close to heading down the path of NijiEN management scandals until Yagoo stepped in and replaced the EN project manager. He does care about growing the EN branch and with the opening of the Cover USA subsidary I believe that management does have more reason to settle contract issues before they really start pushing merch sales. Still noticeable though how many EN talents keep delaying stuff over and over again so there is something going on behind the scenes.

I'm going to say something controversial: I don't like most of the music produced by "the music" chuubas. When people get teary-eyed talking about what an amazing singer Suisei is, I feel legitimately clueless and only keep my mouth shut because I'm afraid of stirring up shit. My favorite thing Watame has done, and I'm being completely serious here, is her lullaby. Most Holos, I like 1-3 songs by them, but there's no correlation between how many I've liked and how many they've made.

I feel bad about this because it means I don't fit in, but it's how I actually feel.

>the character song: "I am X, I stream, I do thing, thank you fans, cheer for me :)" for three minutes. This is a lot of vtubers' first original song and gets annoying especially when there's large gaps between some of them getting a second one

Is not a matter of motivation thou, it's a matter of money. Just a Cover is like 15k to make with the MV and everything. An original song can get to more than 20k just the song, you add an MV to that, and you get to easy 50k. Money that you are likely to not make back if you are not Suisei or Marine. And money you invest in a channel and character you don't own, and you could lose very easily if you are drunk one day and fuck up. For Cover isn't really financially sound either to mass produce original music for nearly 100 talents, so they have limited slots, make use of sponsorships and events.

I know she had the "throat hurt" arc but I don't know about that. Listen to her now and listen to her back then. She sounds sooooo much better as a singer now than when she first debuted. It seems to me like the constant singing work and reps helped her get a lot better.
