Anons, there is a meaning behind "Be consistent"! You can't get yourself out there if the algo doesn't pick you up. And what Uwo mentioned is exactly that!

Medium is for human voice
Low is for bass, might make voice "deeper" if you can have the proper tone (don't worry, 97% of the world doesn't have it)

The problem with this statement is that the idea of "female appeal" can be incredibly nebulous and doesn't involve just doing BFE, and may as well be chalked up to being a likeable person. I watch a male with a lot of female viewers but he doesn't do anything extraordinary to attract women.
However, someone who focuses on the idea of pandering to women without regard to men is a different type of entertainer that men may not necessarily like

My problem with the reasoning basically goes like this:

Sometimes it is a good trade to cut off a percentage of your potential audience in exchange for being more appealing to a specific smaller set of an audience.

For example, specializing in ASMR reduces the number of people who will ever be remotely interested in your content drastically. However, in exchange for this you will appeal to ASMR enjoyers much more and often it can easily make up the difference for a channel's growth. But, at the end of the day even the best ASMR streamer or video maker will never be the biggest streamer or youtuber.

This is why "specialize in your content creation" is such a common piece of advice here. Generally, being a variety streamer leaves you with the largest potential audience possible, but the amount of oversaturation in this space makes it difficult to differentiate yourself from all the other streamers trying the same exact thing.

That's what the real question is all about, saturation levels. Is male vtubing more oversaturated than male fleshtubing compared to how big of an audience there is for it? Its not at all hard to find perma 0-1 ccv males doing both if you look on twitch. There certainly seems to be way more male fleshtubers than there are male vtubers on twitch in general. Does this make up for the reduced potential audience? Fuck if I know.

I don't remember what your original question was. If it's about whether flesh or non flesh is better in terms of saturation, I think both are pretty bad right now. Last year was probably the biggest influx of chuubas and I think it's dying down a bit now, but it's still overly saturated. I think it comes down to what you want, because yeah. there are 0-1 fleshies, but there are also 0-1 chuubas. If it's a mainstream game, chuuba is probably the way because at least your screen looks a bit more appealing to click into than a random 1 view dude.

If your question was about whether specializing is good or bad (like the dumb crabbing about BFE shit) it comes down to effort luck and patience. Assuming you are an average guy, you can grow faster with specialized content because people know what they want and know you provide it every single time. It's not an easy question to answer. To estimate it you could come up with some kind of a formula if you tried. Something like "(total average viewers)/(average number of streamers)" to come up with a saturation level for any particular twitch category. Then you just compare that number to the global twitch stats. A site like sullygnome actually makes this super easy.

However anybody who streams will tell you that these numbers don't tell you the whole story. You would have to basically ask somebody who tried specializing in valorant or genshin to really get a good idea of if it worked or not. Maybe you could just find one on twitch yourself and look at their numbers and see if it worked out for them or not. Another good stat to look for in comparing growth rates for streamers is follows per hour streamed. Try looking at genshin/valorant specialists follows per hour and compare it to similar ccv variety streamers. This might give you a good idea of the levels of saturation in a given category.

What I was trying to get at, more or less, is that choosing to vtube is basically a way to specialize your content. Becoming a vtuber turns off a pretty large percentage of any audience, and this is true for both males and females. However, if this sub specialization causes you to enter a less saturated market then it is still a good choice for growth.

As an example:
If there were 100 times fewer male vtubers. It would probably be a really really good idea to become a male vtuber right now. The market would be comparatively undersaturated. Males would almost certainly grow faster than females at that point. And all this despite there being a comparatively smaller audience for male vtubers compared to female vtubers.

At the end of the day, arguments for why a certain audience is smaller than another audience don't really matter if what you care about is growth. What matters is how saturated the given markets are, and that can only really be found out by researching the numbers in question. Or even asking people who have done both could be much better than just guessing.
