Hope everyone is doing well, I’m on my lunch break and have a few questions!! I will be streaming on YouTube since I prefer it more, should I also figure out how to livestream to Twitch at the same time to try and boost my chances of 1 person watching me? Also should I be posting shorts? I, as a consumer, don’t watch shorts at all so I don’t know what shorts should be or how many I should post. I’m thinking of uploading a cover song once a week, a clip once a week and perhaps a short once a week, if I didn’t work full-time I’d like to post more but I simply won’t have the time between work and daily streams to do more than that. Any tips are appreciated!!

Shorts doesn't convert well to ccv BUT having it doesn't hurt.

The last indie vtuber I know who made it in YT alone was Ushio Ebi and that was 3 years ago.

Hello,
Please do not stream on YouTube. It is a waste of time due to various reasons and there has not been a single YouTube only vtuber to become popular within the past 5 years should tell you that streaming on YouTube is a massive waste of time and energy. Lots of youtube only vtubers that were stubborn who swapped to twitch seen explosive success in comparison.

For YouTube please upload clips, cover songs and shorts like once a day it possible because of how YouTube algorithm works. You should build up a backlog of things to upload and keep a regular schedule in order to keep YouTube algorithm happy. If you can't do that then just use YouTube as a storage for videos that you think people will watch on repeat.

That's still a lot, so I don't think you should worry if you're lacking effort to grow your channel, but twitch is more forgiving in the start where youtube is mostly for re-uploads, clips and shorts.

Ok, so yea Youtube is better for a lot of reasons and Twitch has pros and cons too, I also much prefer Youtube but yea, having a multi stream is always a good idea. As for shorts, they are a lot of work but if you can be posting shorts, yes you should be, they wont work until the algorithm picks you up and it honestly might not for an incredibly long time so dont really worry too much about the shorts numbers if you do start doing them.
Covers are a great idea if you can handle doing that many, and clips are always nice for people to peak at what you are like. That being said doing all that as a new streamer is a fuck ton of work so dont push yourself too hard but if you can, go for it.

YouTube saves VOD’s. I like to go back and watch past streams of people playing longer games. Being able to stream and upload cover songs all on the same place means I prefer YouTube more than Twitch, plus I’ve never been a huge fan of Twitch myself.

I’m not interested in becoming popular, I’m interested in making content and friends. All the VTubers I watch are on YouTube and since YouTube allows streaming, VOD’s being saved and videos being uploaded it just does everything better for me compared to Twitch. I would like to upload something every day but I work full-time and will only have 4 hours a day to stream so I want to focus on the daily streams and won’t have enough time to upload a short or video every day because of that, once a week is something more manageable for me.

Ok so my real advice, do all of that and you will make it. Dont worry about shorts or clips until you have grown enough to know what you are like and you have jokes in your community and at least a handful of people watching, its not gonna be worth the huge amount of work early on.
You 100% should be doing "vtweeter" shit before you debut even if its a negative term, it helps out a lot, the more you interact the better and the more you show people you care about doing this the better as well.

I’m not looking to make it, just to have fun, showcase games I love, sing, play piano, dance and hopefully make friends with other female VTubers. Throne is pretty great! In my PL I had a busted up old chair from goodwill with the arms falling off, I put up a new one on throne and some 1 view ojisan who followed me bought it all in one go. There's one thing that actually makes me believe this: the voice chnager that Golden is using is something that could never be used on stream. She's clearly using AI and not a voice changer.
