Yo, VOD uploaders and clip makers. Don't forget to put tags on your YT uploads. People watch VODs.
Try putting up to about 15 tags, and try to keep them around the same topic/interest of your channel or video so that it'll be easier for YT to send your videos to people (don't just write random unrelated topics just because they're popular).
Try checking the tags other chuubas use by right-clicking their YT video's page, then clicking on "View Page Source". Ctrl+f to find "keywords" - that's where you'll find the keywords they use for their video.
I used that on my latest uploads and I believe it is in fact helping their visibility.

I have way more of it than I'll probably ever put out for viewers to dig through but that's just my personal autism. Don't take it as a necessary thing since most vtubers are just "[thing/animal/concept] that plays videogames" so the only time your lore will really ever feature is in stylizing your model, your overlays and backgrounds and in character artworks on commission or by fans. I think my total lore writeup is about 30 pages or so in a txt file but I can (as should anyone who wants to be approachable) be able to reduce it to a two sentence elevator introduction on stream.

Shorts are meant to only be shown to people through the algorithm, with no user involvement in choosing which videos to watch whatsoever. Which is kind of the antithesis of what a thumbnail is used for.

That's the idea at least. In reality they do show "thumbnails" of certain shorts on the frontpage and good thumbnails would make those shorts get clicked on a lot more.

Putting expectations on viewers drives away both viewers and and further discourages chatting. Viewing a stream needs to be a relaxing experience, not a high pressure one. In a low ccv environment even overly engaging chatters who do talk in your chat can drive them away if you do it wrong.

This kind of expectation also makes people think you are pathetic. People watch streams to be entertained and be put in a good mood. Watching some literal 1 view be sad and sit there hoping to be entertained by chatters is pretty much the most depressing thing possible.

There are people that will pity view you, and give you pity chat messengers, but you cant get past 3-4 ccv with those types. They will move on to the next sack of sadness if you have more than a few viewers, which will leave you perpetually at 2-3 ccv for the rest of your existence.

Something I don't see many vtubers take advantage of is the ability to turn 3d models to the side or away from the camera. You can do the same with a png if you a png of the back or side of the model and toggle it. This is much more difficult with live2d.

You're thinking too simply. The point of facing is to create a more immersive experience for your viewers that flesh streamers can't do without aid of clunky green screens and the like. It sounds like you don't watch small streamers. Watch some low view guys here sometime, the vast majority of them are actually quite good at keeping conversation going even with completely dead chats. Chats can be pretty slow for long periods of time even into the 30+ ccv range. Talking without chatter involvement is the number one most important skill to being a good streamer.

Even just doing a stream of consciousness "oh im going to do this, lets go over there" style of stream commentary is better than long periods of silence.

If you have nothing interesting to say, why would you go into a hobby/business built on talking? Were you expecting people to show up in your chat and tell you what to talk about? Why specifically you? Have you given them a reason to be interested in your opinion on a random thing they heard or saw? You have to be interested in something to be interesting. People have to see you interested in something to be interested in hearing you talk about it. i have a lot of lurkers in my streams because they just like listening to my voice, so i've learned to literally just say everything i'm thinking when i'm playing games. there are a lot of times where i'll ask questions to chat and no one will answer, but thats also normal.

if its this hard and mentally frustrating for you, i would highly consider just stopping because being a streamer, especially a male, vtuber isnt an easy path unless you put a lot of effort into everything and even then you might not really grow if you stop your momentum.

Momentum is real, and debut buffs for girls is also very real. I feel like she is a much stronger streamer now than when she started, and she actually advertised herself when she rebranded so she was actually able to build some momentum from the start.

It looks like she took months of being a 2-3 ccv streamer to selfpost on asp, and she only did it a few times. Tbh a lot of people here I may have seen like, once or twice in my stream but so be it! I can barely make time for aspies either, and if I do it's mostly just to say hi or anything of that sort. The balancing between keeping in contact with the people here and actually networking and meeting other streamers is HARD! And it's something that pays off really slowly as well!!

Then again, I am not entitled to their time and I do interact with people on social media and such (and they interact with me) which is a lot easier. That and of course discord, used to VC with them a lot but currently the servers I'm in don't really do much TT
