Tried asking this in /wasp/ but I wasn’t given any information. I’m still working on getting ready to become a VTuber and I saw an advertisement, at least for 4chan, is $20 so I’m thinking of buying one. Would it be worthwhile to do so? I have 0 connections but I can sing, play piano, dance and I intend to mainly play retro games since those are near and dear to my heart. Because I work full-time I can only dedicate 4 hours every day to streaming. What would be an eye catching advertisement? First song cover? Debut stream?

make sure your ad shows your skills and you would be fine, although with those abilities i would start considering going corpo, the actually talented get scouted easily

I got into VTubers because of people like Korone, Subaru and Mio so it’s a bit embarrassing to say this but I have auditioned to Hololive many times, my videos never got a single view though. I made sure to showcase that I speak 3 languages, can sing, play piano and dance but having no streaming experience likely ruined all my chances which is understandable. I may continue to audition even after I become an indie because I would love to work with the other girls and perform on stage someday.

that diminishes the effects considerably because the reason people check on chuubas with ads is precisely because they are /here/ but that also works.
In any case like 90% of chuubas are openly here nowdays including most of the nijis and some holo id so it isn't that big of a deal.

$20 is the minimum for starting a campaign, with a minimum of $0.05 bid for 1000 views. When I ran >>71764650 I started with a $0.15 bid and got outbid by the cryptospammers until I bumped it up to $0.21. I ran that ad for basically a day, and it costed me $5.

That depends. When me and another flavrbro took over the ad spaces for nyana's debut we did see a significant increase from her usual numbers. However, you get what you pay for and the chat was infested with, well, 4chan innuendos and spam. She since honed her own style and become a decent indie through hitting that vtuber grind.

Won't matter, people here will think you bought the ad yourself even if you didn't.

Well you do realize the majority of them have been making content on sites such as NND for years before joining Hololive, correct? I haven’t done any of those things, I found no need to have any social media accounts my entire life and so becoming a VTuber will be the first time I have any online presence. depends on the size of the channel and on the individual clipper

You can probably get a pretty good deal for 80 bucks or so in my experience
Someone like cooksie is probably as expensive as a youtube ad, maybe even more
